The show was understandably very Big Brother heavy this morning, as tonight it’s the grand finale where Portugeezer Nadia will presumably scoop the 60 odd grand prize. Chris, Aled and Jules are supporting her/him/it, Dom is rooting for Dan (slapheads stick together), Dave is backing Shell (so to speak) and Rachel...well she’s off to see Basement Jaxx tonight so doesn’t care who wins. Chris said mind you at her age it’s hard to keep in touch with popular culture anyway. He has a point y’know.
Chris - I’d like Nadia to win cos I think it would mean a lot to her...and actually I’m a kind, sharing, warm hearted person
Dave - When did that start?
Chris - No seriously, a lot of what I do on the air is bravado...but in real life I’m actually very sensitive and sensitive to other people’s feelings. Plus since she had her tackle lobbed off she’s had a really tough time..
Dave - mmm (laughs)

Thereafter followed a high brow discussion on whereabouts Nadia discarded or indeed keeps her ex genitalia. Moyles thought chucking it over a hedge may have been a possibility...
Dave - Morning if you’re just tucking into your sausage sandwich...7:16
(Chris laughs and starts Trick Me by Kelis)

Cue the barrage of Nadia jokes on the text:
*Who’s Nadia’s favourite footballer? - Dickov
*Who’s Nadia’s second favourite footballer? - Wanchope
Chris said her third is now that guy in the Euro 2004 sticker book that they were discussing a couple of months back.
A Confused Dom - Who, Gary Neville?
(Chris and Jules laugh)

Dave stopped Chris mentioning the Portuguese reserve goalie Quim. Moyles made a montage of echoed Nadia BB drops and played it into the show a few times today. Once was during the opening link, which proceeded Aled’s dream sequence where he was replacing Davina as Big Brother host. The line was : Tonight Aled’s coming out!!! (see what they did there). Also featuring in this morning’s show were final day jingles pledging support for Nadia, Shell and Dan...apologies to all Jason fans amongst you. Chris told “that guy” who does the MoylesWorld show reviews (that’ll be me then) not to moan about him repeating the jingles today as it’s a big day for Big Brother. I understood Chris, “that guy” is Mark by the way. Ignore MC - just my initials. Thanks for saying I do a good job too, you sure you’re reading the same page as everyone else though? BB Aled was back at prime time this morning to run through the penultimate Big Brother update of the year. He read out the awards won by the housemates at their special dinner party last night. These included Nadia winning Best Dressed Housemate (what the f*ck?) and good old Ahmed picking up the coveted title of laziest housemate. As long term listeners know, the Radio One Staff Vote in these circumstances isn’t often wrong and Aled had totalled up their predictions for tonight. Chris and Rach complained that they hadn’t received Aled’s e-mail to vote, but Dave said he’d just deleted them on their behalf. The staff at Radio One Towers have Jason in 4th tonight, Shell in 3rd, Dan in 2nd and Nadia to win with 73% of the vote. Chris thinks Jason will actually come second though and doesn’t know why people hate him so much. I have to admit that if I were to vote I’d vote for Jason to win...possibly. The shows tonight are on Channel 4/S4C at 8:30 and 10pm, with them preceded by Kermit on BBLB at 6 and the shows very own Aled Jones on E4’s Efourum at 7 o’clock. Rach is embarrassed for Aled as he’s even gone to the trouble of printing out his name from the Channel 4 website and ringing it with a marker pen. I might give that show a watch (if I remember) but I hate the tosser who presents it so I’ll probably switch over after a few minutes anyway.

CHRIS’S BB SECRET AND LOVELY DAVINA LIVE ON THE PHONE:
He has kept it from (virtually) the whole team all series, but finally revealed it to the nation this morning after half past 8 - Chris is the eviction voice on Big Brother every Friday night. He has been all series, it’s just his voice slowed down. I think Rach may have known all along but Aled only found out three days ago and Dom and Jules had no clue either. Chris asked Dave if his wife Emma knew. Vitty said no as he didn’t even know, and he was there on the day that Moyles recorded it (the day the team went round the camera run in week one).
Chris (laughs) - Did you really not know?
Dave - No, me and Rachel got an early cab back. I didn’t know you’d done that. I thought you were just hanging around for BBLB
(Chris and Dom laugh)

Rach said the only thing she remembered about that day was the fact that the bedroom was a tip. She said it no doubt stunk worse than Aled’s bedroom in Portugal by now, which was by all accounts a major health hazard. One Take Wonder Moyles recorded the eviction voiceover stuff for free, and was also entrusted with pretty confidential information as regards Becki entering the house. However, the ratbag C4 publicity woman still doesn’t trust him fully...which (as you may have expected) he wasn’t too happy about. Before he gave away his BB secret, Chris asked people to text in and try and guess what it was. Cue the Nadia texts...
*Is Nadia your ex?
*You’ve kissed Nadia haven’t you Chris?
*You fancy Nadia?
*Nadia’s a tranny like you Chris? (my personal favourite)

Friend of the show Davina *please don’t say f*ck or bugger* McCall was live on the show after 8:30, although on her landline and not on the mobile. She sent Chris the new number to call at 11pm last night, although it didn’t fully register at first and Moyles was thinking she wanted him to ring her there and then. Wishful thinking I’m afraid. More or less Chris’s first question this morning was why Davina never told Michelle or Stuart that Nadia was a transsexual in her last two interviews, whereas she did with all the previous housemates. She said it was because the way she addressed the subject at first was amusing but slightly tactless to any trans gender people out there, and had generated loads of complaints. She also added that there wasn’t really enough time to fit it into the interviews anyway (my arse). Chris understood her point but I personally think he came back with a stronger case for her to tell them - “it’s funny and we really enjoy it”. He’s sold it to me. Davina said that the only person she may discuss it with tonight (apart obviously from with Nadia) is Dan. Chris said he really likes Dan, although he does slightly worry him when he analyses people.
Chris - Seriously, that guys got more baggage than Heathrow
At one point in the interview Chris cut the BB music to enable Davina to record a couple of little soundbites for Newsbeat, incorporating the question in her answers of course. She predicts Nadia will win tonight but has no idea about the order the rest will come out, and she also thinks this has been by far and away the Best Big Brother series so far. Aled asked her what she will be wearing tonight. She said she’ll be in a black dress and heels, but she told Chris that this morning she was in her little denim mini, a pair of short cowboy boots and a little off the shoulder t-shirt number. Not a bad image first thing in the morning it has to be said.

LEEDS, LONGMAN, TODAY’S JINGLE AND A QUALITY BUZZ OFF TRACK:>>>
Image
Right Big Brother done now - back to the serious stuff. Like the Coca Cola LDV Vans Champions League. Yep football is back (hurrah) and Leeds are now playing with the big boys in The Coca Cola Championship, aka the old Division One. Welcome to the lower leagues Chris...real football. Continental stylee. Leeds open up at home to Derby tomorrow at Elland Road and Chris will of course be there. Rachel’s Kidderminster Harriers open up their Coca Cola League 2 campaign away at Rushden & Diamonds tomorrow. Rach thinks Chris and Dave should go to a Harriers match this season. Chris said he was up for it...
Dave - When our games are cancelled we’ll come to yours
(Chris and Rachel laugh)

If they do go to a game, could I recommend the one on the 9th of April when the mighty Shakers are in town. We (Bury) actually play Kiddy at home in a few weeks...a guaranteed three points there then (sorry Rach). Juliette’s Port Vale begin in League One at Walsall tomorrow, but Liverpool and Everton obviously don’t play until next weekend for Dom and Dave. Dave said he’s quite happy actually as Everton are currently ninth in the table on alphabetical order.
Dave - We’ll take that
Chris rang his buttylicious mate Longman to see if he was going to the game tomorrow. He said no, but he’s going to see Arsenal - Man U in Cardiff on Sunday. I can’t quite understand this but he said he’d had a change of allegiance. Chris deservedly cut him off as that should never happen in football. Moyles said he hopes Longman chokes on his egg mayo. That’s one of today’s specials at his sandwich shop btw, along with cajun chicken and steak & cheese.
(collective studio “mmm”)
Longman - Nice cheese
(all laugh)

This morning was the final jingle/audio imaging singer challenge of the week, and after all of the comedy words so far, Chris was just after one that sums him up today. He said he was thinking more along the lines of god, genius, legend, saviour and well hung (technically two words), rather than Dom and Daves suggestions of fat, overweight, large, round, rotund, chubby, porker, tubby, bloater and blubber. Hmm. The result?
”We’ve been challenged by Chris Moyles to get in certain words,
That fit into this jingle, no matter how absurd,
So here’s the days new jingle word - and that word is fat,
Then there’s chubby, tubby, bloater, big large man and overweight,
The Chris Moyles Show, Education For The Nation, National Radio One”

Chris’s Buzz Off choice this morning was an absolute belter - probably one of the best he’s ever played. It was Our House by Madness, number 5 back in November 1982. Unsurprisingly 91% of listeners buzzed it on, while Rach was first to vote on 2:11, Dave second on 3:00 and Aled third in the fade on 3:08. He said it was so much better than he remembered. Chris said he loves Madness, and added that Suggs is a top fella too. Another quality oldie on the show this morning was Can You Dig It by The Mock Turtles, although Chris was playing the remix from last year and not the original...
Chris - Who did the remix Dave?
Dave - Erm, I don’t know
Jules - Fatboy
Chris (laughs) - Yeah alright, but who did the remix slut?
(Dom and Dave laugh)

Other music in the show today came courtesy of Lou Reed, Razorlight, 3 Of A Kind (sweet jesus) and the rather awesome Call On Me by Eric Prydz (it’s all over the Ibiza trails at the minute). It samples Valerie by Stevie Winwood, who Rach, Chris and Dave were listening to before the show yesterday as way of a wake up tune. Dave said a bit of Stevie Winwoodd goes well with a sausage butty. Quote of the day folks. Eric Prydz is Swedish by the way. Dave said “Prydz” was probably Scandinavian for Price. Moyles said in that case “Eric” was Scandinavian for “Value” (cue Dave’s pig squeal laugh). He said he needed the toilet.

JULES IS OFF TO ATHENS:
Image
Juliette wandered into the studio at about twenty past nine this morning in a strange outfit - officially called a “buoyancy aid”. Dave said it was like Morecambe Baywatch. Jules explained that she was wearing it because sailing is her sport at the Olympic Games in Athens and she flies out there to cover it for Five Live on Sunday. Don’t panic fans of Pottery twanged female sports readers though, Jules will still be on - reading the sport live from her hotel room each weekday morning...for the next month. I repeat, for the next month. Cow. Chris said he can’t wait for the satellite delay. He suggested Jules try out her new “buoyancy aid” (not life jacket) by them throwing cups of tea at her. Or in the Radio One shower perhaps. Chris said he’d help her out in there...
Jules - Would you take this off for me?
Chris - Pardon?
(Jules laughs)

Dave said that was so seductive - will you take off my arm bands and life jacket. Dom thought Jules looked like Bella Emberg in her big jacket. Even less seductive then. Jules said she’ll be wearing it while covering the sailing, with her other Olympic sport being fencing...
Dave - Well that life jacket will come in handy for that, just in case you get stabbed by one of them swords
(Chris and Jules laugh)

A multi purpose safety garment then. Jules promised to bring something back for the team from Greece who said they’d miss her, although Chris said she’d no doubt have more fun spending her nights in smashing plates and having a holiday fling with a Greek man. She said no way, she doesn’t do Greek men (so to speak).
Image
(Ben Ainslie...he’s our top sailor apparently)
Other stuff today included more Wogan and Ken Bruce impressions from Chris, him revealing that Kristian Leontiou is apparently a big fan of the show, plus him and Dave embarking on a discussion about last years Comic Relief Football Tour, which btw Spurs still owe Moyles, Chapman and Vitty a training session from...
Chris - I’ve told you. I wanna go training with Jamie Redknapp. Y’know just sitting there with your leg in plaster, reading the paper
Dave - Yeah, hobbling around on crutches
(both laugh)
Dave - Morning Jamie if you’re listening
(both laugh again)

Daves Tedious Link
Placebo Nancy Boy - Placebo are led by Brian Molko - If you add a third O to Molko you get Moloko, who were a band with a female singer - Other bands to have featured female singers include Catatonia, Blondie and Hole - Hole In My Shoe was a 1984 hit for Neil - Neil Armstrong was the first man to go walking on the moon - Walking On The Moon was a chart topper for The Police in 1979 - If you were born in 1979 you’d now be approximately 25 - 25 is exactly a quarter of a century - If you remove the last letter of century and replace it with “ion” you get “centurion”, which is one of those Roman soldier type people with a sort of brush on their head - Head rhymes with lead, whose initials in the periodic table are Pb - PB are the initials of Peabo Bryson, who duetted on Tonight I Celebrate My Love with Roberta Flack - and flack jackets are worn by the SAS who are trained in the art of survival and know instinctively how to purify water and build fires in cold conditions, to enable them to “keep warm” - Which links us predictably to Jinny and Keep Warm
