Only ten more of these to go then - so enjoy them while you can. The team had made a remarkably swift return to London after their exploits out in Birmingham yesterday afternoon, exploits which had left a certain fellow Radio 1 DJ feeling a little worse for wear this morning:
Chris - Nemone is now going to go to bed, which I think is a very good idea
Dave - That’s what I want to do...(pause)... not with Nemone obviously
Chris - Well... you would though wouldn’t you?
Dave - Well yeah but I’m married
Chris - I’m not..

I think it’s probably best to round up the whole weekends goings on first, as there’s a hell of a lot to get through. We’ll start with all the OBW stuff - although remember for tons more on “The Stain”... just check yesterday’s special review. Chris’s musical highlights of the weekend were Fatboy Slim, Groove Armada, Razorlight, Estelle, Lostprophets and Joss Stone - the latter of whom he hugged backstage... while dressed as a huge fat dog. It’s not a good look baby. He also met Joss’s mum Wendy and her sister Lucy again, this while him and the rest of The Stain made their way out to the main stage to perform Dogs Don't Kill People, Rabbits Do (which Chris said he now hates btw):
Dave - Stain followed Stone on the bill last night, so that was well planned...
Chris - That’s right

The live tracks on this morning’s show came from:- the aforementioned Joss Stone, MLS (of course), a rather bizarre Maroon 5 duet from Estelle and Natasha Bedingfield (which Dave characteristically gave away to the crowd before it had been announced) - and also the Lostprophets, doing a mixture of their new single Last Summer and The Strokes’ hit Reptilia. Was good. Chris also took great pleasure in seeing Greyhead try to get six huge dog and rabbit costumes to fit into the back of the car last night - including a 6ft 3 alsation costume for the “Big Dog” himself, Mr Dominic Byrne (“the bald man of rap - he ain’t crap”). Talking of big dogs, I heard the funniest thing ever while flicking over to Westwood on Saturday night. He was with special guest Estelle, and running through the Sunday line up for OBW. When he got to Mouldy Lookin’ Stain, he said he had no idea who they were, but added “they sound a mess”. That’s raw talent for you right there Mr Tim. Stu from Lostprophets even called MLS the new Shirehorses, a comparison Radcliffe, Riley and Rhys would no doubt find hugely insulting. To be fair though, the official MLS merchandise was selling “like hot potatoes” (copyright Comedy Dave) over the weekend, with all t shirts completely selling out. Granted there was only a handful made *cough*. Dom said as tempting as it was, no he didn’t drive back home last night in his alsation costume. After hearing the performance on One Big Rewind with JK and Chuckle last night, Dom did admit that his wife Nic told him she was very proud. Dave said Emma had called him her “favourite bunny in the whole wide world”. Just wait a minute while I vomit violently... ah there we go. Other weekend shenanigans in Brum included the long awaited meeting of Moyles and Fearne Cotton (“the hot cotton” - but not Dot Cotton), plus Vernon Kay having a threesome with two fellas (let’s just gloss over that)... and Chris and Dave meeting JK and Joel’s other halves:
Chris - One of them, legs all the way up to her ears..
Dave - I think that’s anatomically not correct
(Chris laughs)

KIDDERMINSTER HARRIERS 1 MACCLESFIELD TOWN 0:>>>
Image
(The team at the match - thanks to David Purslow)
So Saturday was not only a big day for all at One Big Weekend, but it was also a big day for Rachel's beloved Kidderminster Harriers. They ended their 5 match losing streak with a 1-0 win against Macc, and now move up to second bottom in Coca Cola League 2 - incidentally the most exciting league in England. Chris and the whole team thoroughly enjoyed their day down at Kiddy, and thanked everyone down there for looking after them so well. Highlights of the afternoon included Chris meeting KH mascot Harry The Harrier, Liverpool fan Dom meeting one of his idols Jan Molby (the Kiddy boss)... and Chris and Dave presenting the man of the match award afterwards. It went to Kidderminster’s number 2 Lee Jenkins, although dumb ass Dave had originally been planning to give it to a Macclesfield player - (Harry) Potter, who actually got sent off in the second half. Vitty said he didn’t realise it had to be a Kidderminster player, and said to be fair Macclesfield were all over Kiddy anyway up till half time - which was when he made his decision. His personal highlight was sitting up in the posh boxes with Jules, and listening to the audio coming in from the heavily mic’d up technical area. He said he was loving it, but the industrial language from Brian Horton and Jan Molby was (at times) turning the air blue. Chris and Rach were out with the proper fans on the terraces btw. No idea where Aled was - probably in the car outside. Oh and Richie Appleby won the game for Kiddy with a penalty 12 minutes from time.

BUZZ OFF, BABESTATION AND EMMA IN THE BATH:
Image
(Greyhead Will - who’s busy doing work experience on somewhat specialist TV channels...)
Today’s show was pretty damn good - although not quite as good as that first half hour promised. Just before Buzz Off, Chris explained the new “team line up” for the next fortnight, because there’s been a few changes. The main one being that Aled isn’t going to be on the show till after they get back from holidays. This cos he has a far more important job these next two weeks...
Chris - Believe it or not he’s being day producer, while Will has got 2 weeks work experience on the Fantasy Channel..
(Dave and Rachel laugh loudly)
Chris - Well it’s a known fact that Will wants to leave. He’s desperate to leave to go and produce TV
Rach - He did leave and now he’s come back!
Chris - Well yeah. He left to move into television, we had a big send off and everything... and then he was back 2 weeks later
(Dave and Rach laugh loudly again)
Dave (laughing) - We got him back on a free transfer

With Aled depping as day producer, Joce is now filling in for Aled as show BA. This means (you still with me?) that Tania is in for Joce - and apparently she’s just some random brown noser who is way too eager to help... and also (rather worryingly) dresses like Rachel - but with no poncho. All this then cos Greyhead is answering the phones on Babestation or summat...
Image
Dave - I saw that the other night!!
Chris - Did you?
Dave - Yeah, I saw it when she was in the bath..
Chris - What?
Dave - The wife..
(Chris, Dom and Rachel burst out laughing)
Dave - oh no no no no...
Dom - Emma’s not on it though is she Dave?
Dave - No hang on, right. Let’s clarify this - I saw a bit of the Babestation while the wife was in the bath
Dom - I see
Chris - Ah right OK (laughs)

Channel 172 folks. If you don’t know, it’s basically a load of scantily clad top heavy lovelies - all sitting around reading out text messages till stupid o’clock in the morning. It’s actually filmed around the corner from Radio 1, and Chris said he recognised one of the girls going into that building when he was walking past it the other day. He said the girl in question was “quite tidy”...
Chris - Who’s your favourite Dave?
Dave - Pardon?
Chris - Who’s your favourite on Babestation?
Dave - I don’t have a favourite. I literally only saw it for a matter of seconds because just as I’d turned over, she stepped out of the bath and I put it onto Sky News
(all laugh - including a pig squealing Dave)
Dom - Yeah absolutely, it’s your number one channel..

“Just checking those football results love” - at half 11 on a Thursday night. Damn those late Spanish kick offs. This the best link in weeks, with the whole point having been that cos Aled is off covering for Will... Dom was filling in for Aled on Buzz Off. Clear as mud. An appropriately titled Buzz Off tune considering this link, but more importantly... a brilliant Buzz Off tune . It was That’s Entertainment by The Jam, which was number one back in August 82. Dom was first to buzz on 1:51 as he had to go do the news, Rach next on 2:33, and Dave last (as it faded out) on 3:24. The text vote was 77% Buzz On.

GET YOUR OWN CHRIS MOYLES SHOW JINGLE:>>>

EXAMPLE:>>> “We’re gonna sing a little song, it could mention your name,
So register today and bring yourself some morning fame,
Tell us stuff about you and we’ll sing a song for you,
Then just hope that Chris can write lyrics that fit into this audio imaging,
The Chris Moyles Show, National Radio One”

All next week out of the news at half 8, Chris will be playing a few jingles with a difference.... as they’ll all be about specific listeners. Basically it’s your chance to hear 26 seconds of personalised audio imaging (sung by the professionals), which you’ll then receive a copy of yourself. To enter just click onto here and tell the team all about yourself - the more detail the better, as you'll stand more of a chance of getting it made. Possible questions to ask yourself include:
*Are you fat, thin, tall, annoying?
*What do you do in your spare time?
*What bands and music do you like?
*Who are your friends?
*What has been your most embarrassing moment?
*Where do you live and what job do you do?

Hmm, they really are revolutionary. Chris wanted to do a tester so asked Jules to tell him some stuff about one of her friends. She said Karen is a 36 year old hairdresser who is single, can’t be arsed with men, has fake baps and occasionally does the odd bit of baking. Dom said that was a lot of information to get across in just 26 seconds. Mind you Chris did his best on the spot...
CHRIS SINGING OVER INSTRUMENTAL:>>>
“Karen is a hairdresser, she is 36,
She’s not got a bloke so she’s desperate for some sex,
She’s in the kitchen, she really likes to bake,
And she’s got lovely puppies, but Jules says that they’re fake,
The Chris Moyles Show, National Radio One”

STAR WARS, SURROUND SOUND AND SIZZLING SOPHIE:>>>
Image
Chris said he’s been waiting for this day for years - as it’s the day the original Star Wars trilogy comes out on DVD in the UK. Dave was finding it hard to contain his excitement...ok he wasn't. Chris talked about how he’s going to go out and buy it this lunchtime, then take it home and stick it in the DVD player with the whole surround sound thing going on later. Moyles explained how he’d turn some TX bit or other up and mute the volume, just until the main theme comes on. Jeez, and I thought I was sad. Dave butted in and said the whole surround sound stuff is such a bloke thing:
Dave - Girls don’t really care as long as they can hear it... god that was a generalisation wasn’t it?
Rach - Yes!

Chris and Dom then spent the next couple of links discussing theme tunes/sequences for all the big film production companies, such as Miramax, Dreamworks, Universal and 20th Century Fox. Riveting stuff.. ahem. What was far more entertaining was Chris and Daves analysis of The Daily Star today - as it has Abi Titmuss on the front page (no real reason) and “sizzling Sophie” (21) on page 3. She’s not Chris’s Sophie though, and is apparently kicking off The Star’s “college cuties” week...
Chris (reading) - “Sophie says she’s never played hockey, but with twin strikers like these perhaps she should”
(Dave laughs)
Chris - What they mean by that is her breasts...
Dave - She’s got lovely norks!!!
Chris (laughs) - Dave!!??
Dave - What?
Chris - You can’t say that you sexist pig. Although it is fair to say, she does indeed have...
Dave (laughing) - Lovely norks!!
(both laugh)
Chris - Don’t repeat it!!

OTHER STUFF THIS MORNING:>>>
Chris (back announcing record) - Mario Winans, I Don’t Wanna Know... that was number one wasn’t it?
Dave - Yeah. Quite rightly, great record..
(Chris laughs)

Image
Chris was unhappy about having to play that awful Rui Da Silva Touch Me song after the 8 o’clock news, so asked Rachel for permission to play something different. Predictably she refused, and even more predictably Chris then ignored her...
Chris - Oh come on Rach, the kids wanna hear something fresh... or classic
(Dave laughs)

He ran through the tracklisting of his Best Of 1998 CD (year picked by Dom) - which included The Mavericks, Spice Girls, Lighthouse Family, Vengaboys, Aqua, 911, Billie and Steps. Needless to say the idea was scrapped and he stuck on Rui Da Silva instead. Good job as Rachel had nearly had a heart attack. Other random bits and bobs on the show this morning included more new Dombot clips, a 3 minute Weird Al montage that kill billed a bit of half time (guh huh), Rachel saying that Britney looks like a chav in her wedding photos - and Chris starting his new campaign NOT to get Robbie Williams on the show (reverse psychology maybe?). Plus Moyles also chatted briefly about that new show on Bravo with Dani Behr each Saturday - called “The Littlest Groom”. It’s basically Average Joe for the vertically challenged, a show that Scott Mills was going big on this afternoon (if you excuse the pun). One other story I also found very funny this morning was Chris talking about the sore loser that is Jose Mourinho. If you don’t know, Mourinho was basically complaining about Spurs using defensive tactics in their 0-0 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge yesterday. Chris said this guy is getting on everyones thrupnies so much, that even Giles Peterson started his show after the 11 o’clock news last night with a mini rant about it (Chris had been listening to the Sunday Surgery on the way back down in the car y’see..). All I have to say is this - bring back Claudio.

THIS WEEKS OFFICIAL TOP TEN AVEC MOI

10 (3) McFly - That Girl (Rrrrrrubish)
9 (-) Joss Stone - You Had Me (I wish. Not a bad song too..)
8 (6) Twista feat Anthony Hamilton - Sunshine (Still not a big fan)
7 (5) 3 Of A Kind - Baby Cakes (Evil)
6 (1) Brian McFadden - Real To Me (I don’t mind it now no ones playing it any more)
5 (4) Jo Jo - Leave (Get Out) (Like I said last week, a good pop tune)
4 (2) Nelly - My Place/Flap Your Wings (Two sh*t songs for the price of one)
3 (-) Green Day - American Idiot (Best song in the ten)
2 (-) Girls Aloud - Love Machine (Nice video)
1 (-) Eric Prydz - Call On Me (Ditto. Loving the Stevie Winwood sample too)
Image
*I still love this bit of the show - purely for Chris and Dave in their Smashy & Nicey “pop a doodle do” type chart voices. Only complaint outside the top ten this week is Razorlight only in at 18 with Vice. Should have gone top five, it’s a brilliant record.

NEW JINGLE:>>>
“We’re live back here in London town, we got back in a hurry,
Spent three great days in Birmingham, and now we’re sick of curry,
Fatboy Slim and then Joss Stone, and lots of other names,
But the highlight of the weekend was Mouldy Lookin Stain’,
The Chris Moyles Show, National Radio One”

A VERY BRIEF CPC: (Cos Chris was over running badly - both callers back tomorrow)
SCOTT from sunny Bournemouth 2
MARTINE a landscape gardener from Balcombe in West Sussex 0 (love them hose)
Image
Chris - What do you do Scott?
Scott - I’m a Water Regulations Officer for Bournemouth and West Hampshire Water
Chris - mmm
Dave - Hi girls
(Scott laughs)

Daves Tedious Link
Marrs Pump Up The Volume - Mars is a planet - The plural of planet is planets - “The Planets” is a famous piece of classical music by Holst - If you add an “E” and a “R” to Holst, you get “Holster”, which is what a cowboy might keep his gun in - “Gun in” rhymes with “Sun-In”, which is what you use to bleach your hair - Hair needs to be brushed, as do teeth - Teeth come in all sorts of different shapes and sizes, such as incisors, molars and canines - “Canines” is also a word referring to members of the dog world - “Dog” rhymes with “log”, which is what you might find in a forest - Forest Fruits is a popular flavour of yoghurt - Yoghurt is a good example of something best eaten with a spoon, and in that respect shares something in common with soup - One of my favourite types of soup is leak and potato - “Potato” is a six letter food word, as is “banana” - and bananas are yellow - Which links us predictably to Coldplay and Yellow

MINI MOYLES UPDATE:>>> (thanks once more to Sarah Hillary)
- Chris is walking home to make sure he's buff for his big Wimbledon premiere this evening
- Dave is picking up his car from the garage and then going to the hospital for an eye test
