Well hello! You may wonder what I’m doing here, those of you who read my Friday reviews(both of you) will recognise me, I’m standing in for Ste for this week, who is unable to review for the next few weeks, due to exams.
Chris wasn’t feeling great this morning, he didn’t get much sleep last night. He woke up coughing, snot everywhere. I’m guessing the cold still hasn’t gone! He says he has a good night’s sleep if he’s had a few beers beforehand. He can sleep like a log then. Dave was feeling rubbish today as well. But the show must go on!
“I’m Mark, Mr Gay UK 2004, whenever I’m in the UK, I listen to The Chris Moyles Show, on Radio 1”
If you’re a regular Moyles listener, you’ll know of Rob DJ’s Monday night pub quiz, well Chris and Dave went to a real one last night. Which was apparently the hardest pub quiz ever. So much so that they both got 0/40. Chris’ favourite question:
“How many golf balls are on the moon?”
Dom’s guess was 2, wrong, as was Rachel who guessed 6. Carrie guessed 12, and Aled…well they didn’t ask him. Chris put none, the answer was three. They had Science and Nature rounds, and History, which neither of them knew anything about. Next was the beer round, which you’d expect Chris to be an expert on, probably the first time he’d faced a round of beers though, they missed a chance there! This conversation got a bit dull after a while, infact you’d be forgiven for skipping this paragraph!
BUZZ OFF:
After a bit more pub quiz talk, Buzz Off finally came on the air at 7.20. Chris predicted today’s track would get at least 82% buzz on. It was INXS’ Need You Tonight from 1988. They all waited until the song had finished to buzz it off, bar Dom who buzzed in with 2 seconds to go, which annoyed the team. Rachel was next, then Dave. Chris’ predictions were right, 82% buzz on.
It’s the Radio 1 christmas party tonight. Chris was supposed to be DJ-ing but he’s not going too, he says he was just gonna say hello to everyone, put on the Pete Tong Essential Selection CD, and go and stand at the bar for 45 minutes. Dom said he should just get a packet of tunes and drop them. Rachel thought that was an embarrassing gag, Dom thought it was perfectly funny. It’s also the Loaded LAFTA awards tonight, in which Chris and Dave are up against each other in the same category. For Funniest best looking man with best haircut who is best dressed on radio, well I agree with some of that! No doubt you’ll hear about it tomorrow who’s won!
Don’t know If you’re aware of this, perhaps Radio 1 haven’t promoted quite as much as they should have done(Sarcasm), but there is a Radio 1 Top Of The Pops Christmas party on Sunday 12th December, hosted by Chris himself, with Fearne Cotton and Reggie Yates. Listeners to Moyles’ show all week have had the chance to win tickets for the event in London, the three songs they had to identify were Pink – Get This Party Started, Take That – Back For Good and Usher – Burn, got them straight away myself, but I don’t fancy going to London again! Sophie, Leanne, Dave, Andy, Sarah, Lizzie, Steve, Simon, Amy and Harry were the winners today, if you wanna win, do what they did!
GUEST NEWS: Matt Lucas and David Walliams, from some comedy show called Little Britain, will be on the show on Friday.
THE CHRIS MOYLES SHOW ADVENT CALENDAR
Today is the 1st December. The countdown to Christmas starts here! And this year, the show has it’s very own advent calendar. They’ll be opening a door each day(Naturally!), and instead of chocolate behind it, there will be a celeb. Today’s celeb was Basil Brush.
“Hello Chris, it’s day one of Christmas advent, and I’m Basil Brush, I have a festive joke for you, why does Santa like gardening at Christmas? Because he likes to ho ho ho!”
This feature was a bit silly and pointless, but never mind, it’s only gonna run for 25 days!
Rachel had a present for Dave at 8.15 this morning, it was a Chris Moyles show christmas card. Which you can get by going to http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/chrismoyles. It’s basically the TOTP magazine picture, with snow and Santa hats super-imposed on. It also has the team’s signature’s inside. Rachel says they’re great fun, and the best thing to do would be to print on card and in colour, and send to all your friends, have fun!
Today’s special guest was none other than Kelly Brook, who arrived at 8.45. She’s starring in a film at the moment, playing an Italian girl. She talked about putting on an Italian accent. Chris didn’t forget to mention his “cameo” appearance in the film Wimbledon, despite, as Dave says, only being in it for 8 seconds. Chris said he gets loads of offers but he’s too busy doing the radio show. Kelly’s spent a lot of time in America recently, traitor! She’s been in Smallville amongst other things. Chris also talks about her upcoming projects. Of course the interview didn’t pass by without some flirting, Chris said they should go out for dinner, but Kelly knows Chris has a girlfriend, so don’t get her hopes up! It was quite a short interview, I’m guessing it was finished off during the next record…
Half Time: The bit where Dave says:
LETS GET READY TO RAMBLE!!!!
The team have apparently been sent a Christmas dinner by a chef. That was a bit random, especially at 9 o’clock in the morning! Rach and Aled are eating it all. Chris tried some, from how it sounded, his Mother never told him to keep his gob shut whilst eating! Dom also tried some lovely British Turkey, and spat some out on the microphone. Somebody texted in to say the Turkey might be poisoned, let’s hope not! Anyway, that really was it for half time today!
Not surprisingly, I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here was brought up at 9.15. Chris didn’t see it last night, but can’t believe Vic Reeves got voted out. I’m not surprised, he was dull as the dark! Dave thinks it was a waste of time him going in, although a bonus for him, is that he now gets to spend a week in a five star hotel in Australia with Nancy, paid for by somebody else. Dave wants Sophie to win, Chris and Rach both want Joe Pasquale to win. Aled hasn’t seen much of it this year, he was an out with an old friend last night. It was an ex apparently, who he hasn’t seen since the break-up.
Chris: So was it awkward when you saw Kelly this morning?
