f*ckin hilarious ..

Aled,

Was Chris referring to you posting on here when he had a go at you for chatting on the internet earlier this week?

Also, earlier in the thread I asked if Georgina and Chappers would be reading news and sport on breakfast....

Aled wrote:Can't comment - will be announced VERY soon

forgive my ignorance, but have these been announced yet?

I read Chappers will be doing the sport in another thread on here but I've not heard anything about the newsreader...

Bryne was good this week. George is too unwilling to talk about her private life on air, and gets easily offended too often.

I don't mind Matt Barbet either but I am pretty sure that he will be moved from breakfast when coxy goes.

I wonder if Dominic going out with Chris, Dave etc earlier this week has anything to do with him perhaps joining breakfast?

the problem with the reviews is that sometimes they are objective, depending on our moods.

The reviews should be subjective and it should be made clear that they are.

Well, lets stop using them for BBC Online because that's a HUGE dept in the BBC and some peopel there are scary and some and nice but they don't all work on the Chris Moyles website at Radio 1 online. From now on lets think of BBC Online as Geordie Kid.

Both Scott (Geordie Kid) and I think that it's silly that you guys work so hard on this site and then there's the BBC Chris Moyles website which is great in some ways and not so great in others, we just don't have the resources to do some of things that you do so well here. And you don't have access to some of the stuff that we do on the BBC website.

So we figured maybe we should start working together. Maybe we could use some of the people on here to do some of the stuff you already do on here in return for better access - maybe sound clips, official pics... interviews...(?) who knows?

We want the Chris Moyles BBC website to reflect the size of the show, but it kinda makes sense that the BBC website is going to look after ALL the shows on Radio 1 so can't devote exactly the kind of attention we'd like - not anywhere near as much as on here.

You won't be BBC staff, so the BBC would never have the right to dictate what you must say, so no worries about you being as honest as you are now. Plus you will still have this website to vent true feelings so working with us won't stop you expressing your views on here as you wish.

And finally this website will always be independant, so we'd never wish to - and couldn't dictate what you did on here.

Scott and I are looking at making us work together to improve both websites not to take over and not to stop you stiffle your opinions and ideas on here.

I'm probably the only person who thinks this, but the only thing that i didnt really like about this site having more to do with the BBC's is if we had to start changing what we write. ie. if the reviews werent allowed to chriticise the show.

This is one of the things I suggested to Scottie. It seems silly for us to have people recording the show every day, when it would be even easier for you to give us any clips that we would like to hear again.

I agree with that. Exclusive interviews wouldnt be so bad either.

I thought it sounded like they still wanted people here to record the show and they also use the clips on the mini-site aswell. That isn't a bad idea but it's just duplicating the content on both sites. that is the bit i don't really understand the point of. Why not just put a link to here for the sounds and reviews that are already done here?

I think the sites working together on new ideas is a good thing as obviously the official site has access to certain things this site doesn't so could improve both sites. Instead of sites duplicating content from each other why not think up of new ideas that can be worked on together.

Yeah, but the BBC keep all the shows on tape. What's the point of having people record the show when the BBC have them all anyway? They would also be better quality than the clips we provide at the moment.

Hmm, out of everything - this is one of the difficult ones. we DON'T keep stuff on tape. Stuff is stored for legal reasons in a building somewhere in the BBC empire - but not here. All I have is a computer network that stores programmes on the system for 3 days. And for network safety that computer system isn't linked to the internet in any way. It's not as easy to get clips to you as you'd think.

But this is something we would be able to work on. There are a few hurdles to overcome - permission of using BBC stuff e.g. I'm sure you're aware that strictly speaking the sound clips you have on the website are braking the law :) And I would be breaking BBC guidlines if I were to give you the clips. So this would need looking into.

The reason for duplication in my mind (even though it appears wasteful) is that, all it would take is for BBC Online to take a different course of thinking in 1/3/5 years + and take all the old stuff off the BBC site and you lose it all. What were to happen if Chris was to leave the BBC? I doubt BBC Online would keep stuff on the Radio 1 website then. So it probably would be for the best for you to mirror the content as well.

I'll ask Scott to speak to Chris. In the meantime any more ideas here would be welcome on working closer together and, I'm sure, Chris would welcome comments to him too for when Scott does speak to him.

Possibly, the first question should be... who would be interested in working with us?

Any of the show reviewers? Uglybob?

(Feel free to post here - or PM me directly) and then we could see the level of response and the time available and I can take it Scott and see if there's any mileage in this?

i think its something chris might rip into if he saw it. though its presented by one of Radio 1, Trevor Nelson (nice man.no hair) but it isnt him that makes it rubbish.

think robot wars without jonathon pearce and a computer generated dragon with the audience cheering even though they dont actually see anything.

i most definitely probably wont be doing the breakfast show as hopefully ill have a job in January and sara cox has made me sort of not listen to the radio in the mornings, thatll change to the afternoon now.

sorry for slagging her but i cant help it. a lot of the comedians criticise chris for having no talent etc, they havent listened to her then. Have you tried and failed to get Peter Kay on the show cos hes been on everything else.

Why have you invited Avid back on. I know he was fantastic last time but he pushed the envelope far too much and i was waiting for the sara cox/ali g type of debacle after it but thankfully i didnt hear of any complaints. Will this one be taped then to make sure he doesnt say F or C.

The Mirror wrote:RADIO 1 DJ Sara Cox had to make a grovelling apology yesterday after playing a song full of swear words on her show.

The breakfast presenter, above, intended to pick the theme to TV's Casualty.

But instead she chose an expletive-laden song by Oxide and Neutrino, of notorious rap group So Solid Crew.

Part of the song, Bound For Da Reload, goes: "S**t, I'm shot, I don't f***in' believe this, Can everyone stop getting shot, shot, shot, shot, Can every one stop getting shot?"

Horrified bosses pulled the plug mid-way through. And Cox, 28, said: "I had no idea it was that hardcore and didn't know there was any swearing in it at all."

The DJ, to be replaced by Chris Moyles after losing listeners, said she was "really sorry", especially if children were listening.

Aled,

Who's fault is it when they play a song that has swearing in it? Is it the Producer or the Presenter?

Just that I was listening to the Breakfast show yesterday morning during Cox's Big ones and they decided to play the Oxide and Neutrino Casualty track. It happened to be the non-radio edit..

How on earth did they manage to make such a big mistake?

The story above is from the Mirror. Its got plenty of mistakes as well by the looks of things..

"definitely probably"? Surely you won't be working at 7 in the morning? Plus we still haven't given up hope on the Listen again on Radio 1 online.

Avid is always very funny, is very popular with our audience (I'd imagine Bo Selecta and us share a lot of viewers/listeners) There were no problems or complaints about the last time he came on, and I doubt there will be when he comes in next time. Both he and Chris trust each other and are very aware of where the line is. In any case Avid needs Radio 1 (and Chris in particular) to promote his new single - Ali G just needed the press coverage.

I'm afraid I better not comment on that one. It's a bit too close to the bone! I better not comment. Ultimately though it's the Producer's fault.

Aled, when Avid comes in did he stay in character when the mics are closed? Have you spoken to him?

And as regards to the Radio Player I guess they don't want Chris in because it is specailist, so ask why Terry Wogan can be in but not Chris. I can't see why there would be copyright problems because they sometimes put Chris' show in when its an OB.

If you don't keep tapes, how did you get the audio for Will's last show, for example?

What are you shows plans for the last show on 5th December? Anything for us to look forward too?

If you don't mind me suggesting - why not have a link on the best bits of the afternoon shows over the years? Similar to Wills best bits.
