The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I can't stand BB. Todays show (25/06/01) was a bit rubbish. Narinder just keeps on moaning. **** OFF you spiteful sprite, moaning midget, nasty nipper.
Also Chris said that Narinder could take over from him on Saturdays, and I quote "when we leave".
What is going on with this?
[This message has been edited by winker (edited 25 June 2001).]

This isn't the first time Chris has mentioned leaving the Saturday show. Is it banter or is he serious? I know his Saturday ratings are bad compared to Johnathon Rosses, but who else could they put on Saturday? Scott Mills?
the_dr

hmm. good point dr. i don't think it is serious and today's mention was quite subtle (if that indeed was what he was hinting at). It could be just his frustration at j. ross winning the ratings war over him spilling onto the air, and not necessarily him refering to the possibility that he will be replaced for getting not enough listeners on saturdays.
[This message has been edited by Monkey (edited 25 June 2001).]

I think that Chris should give up the Saturday am show. This would leave more material for the week and also he could have his weekends to get pissed up. I agree Mr Ross is a very funny man. I haven't listened to him on R2 for a while, but on They Think It's All over he does get away with some risque humour.

he gets rapped every week for his radio 2 show, because he comes out with some ridiculous stuff, some very below the cuff. some might take offence especially handicapped ppl and gays

did anyone else hear chris mention summit about how in a few weeks time dermot o'leary could be doing the sat. show...he didn't quite say it as directly as that but that's basically what he meant....?

Yep, I remember that - can't remember when he said it - but I think he said it directly, as a joke. Leaving the Saturday show is something I can see him doing - but not leaving R1 altogether. Maybe he could do some Saturday TV show and do the R1 show in the week. :)
the_dr

I love the saturday show but i do think that if they gave that up they would have more material for the weekday shows. I should think that six days a week takes a lot of time thinking of material and thats why sometimes they run out.

Yep - the Saturday show is rubbish. Chris himself has said "The saturday show hasn't been funny for 2 years now, so why start now?". Maybe he's less funny in the mornings?
the_dr

The saturday show should go - i havent listened to it for a while but when i last heard it the show wasn't as good as it used to be. Why should chris do 6 days a week? No other daytime radio 1 dj does.
Thanks you winker for saying that u hate narinder too. She is such a bitch. She needs to stop milking her dodgy celebrity status and shut her mouth.
Does anyone else think that there is too much big brother on the show? I actually like big brother but i dont need a 3 hour chat about it every day.
I'm also gonna take this opportunity to say that i don't like brian and i hope that bubble wins. Shove that in your pipe and smoke it narinder

As i mentioned in another thread, Chris said Richard is leaving the saturday show. When he said this he also said that he would leave if richard left or something along them lines. He also started talking about Richard Blackwood or Dermot o'Leary or even the chuckle brothers taking over the saturday show.

I also agree that the Saturday show has been a bit sh.ite for ages now. They can't even get guests sometimes. What does this say?
The weekday shows would be better off for him ditching the Sat show.
I hope they get Dermot/Kermit O'Leary to do Chris' show as I definetely won't listen as this bloke is a big ponce and I'll try to listen to Jonathon Woss.
As for Narinder she is probably gonna disappear up her own ass round about Thursday afternoon, I hope. God she is SO fricken annoying, poxy pigmie that she is.
Shut up you non-entity. Shut it you muppet.

[This message has been edited by winker (edited 25 June 2001).]

they are definitely leaving saturdays. but i think it is only not so good cause of richard's silence. and some pretty dodgy features.

I find the Saturday show crap as its all so planned and structured - the beauty of the weekday show is its spontaniety (spelling?) and the way its just off-the-cuff banter. With pre-planned features it just becomes dull. The guests from 12 are usually quite good though. And when you have producers who don't speak and stuff you totally lose the anarchic flavour of the show - Chris and Dave on their own are good, but not that great. Its like they're catering for a more "family" audience, which blunts the humour. And have you noticed how on saturday they never mention Will or Lizzie or anything they talked about the preious day, as if they assume its a totally different audience, with not one person listening to both the saturday and weekday shows?
