With Chris being off and Emma B Being pants basically I decided to hear what the wonderful world of Local and commercial Radio had to offer.
I live in The Manchester area so at 4:00
Key 103 Darren Proctor, seems ok is quite witty and plays some good tunes, but there are a lot of adverts and mostly the same ones, Which causes you to turn off after a bit. But this week while he is off they have Darren Parks who is the Key 103 version of Emma B.
Galaxy 102 Simon Greening sounds like he is sciving off school to do his radio show, Sounds as though his voice still hasn't broken. Tries to be funny but isn't.
96.2 Revolution Ok plays songs from 80's 90's and present day good mixture and not a lot of talking. Although when they do talk not good I'm Afraid.
Chris come back please there is only so many games of Fifa 2001 I can play on the playstation.
What does the rest of the board have to offer any decent local radio near you.

i have essex fm. don't ask, just don't. god almighty. i might tune in tomorrow to see what's on instead of moyles. it might be amusing in a "laughing at, not with" kind of way. *looking at the radio section of newspaper* raj persaud, from the now deceased richard & judy show , is on radio 4 at 4:30 tomorrow; "All In The Mind" it's called. He has a laughter specialist on. funny.
I live in manchester too, and aswell as those already mentioned, theres ROCK FM, which is basically the same as KEY 103 - too many ads and a bit too much 'pop'.Then theres Century 105 which is a bit of everything. The Revolution is sooo funny because it sounds just like Moyles' little impressions of tin pot local radio and all the DJ's sound like 10 year olds!

Count yourself lucky all i have is some young scottish girl on Tay FM playing the same rubbish every day like s club 7, or some old bloke on Tay AM talking about the new art sculpture getting put up in dundee or perth city centre

As i am typing, i am listening to tin pot local radio Signal One (The one which sacked Moyles years ago!) And guess wot, the DJ is using some of moyles' backing music for his link!! I've noticed recently that about a week after moyles does a new feature or sound effect, a really poor immitaion appears on local radio!

Demoose it could be worse. All 3 local stations around here (Leicester Sound, Hereward and Rutland Radio) are so shite, they don't even have background music for their links!
Paul.

Strange how Moyles fans seem to congregate in a few areas: Manchester, Plymouth, etc. I've only ever intentionally listened to local radio for a few days about 2-3 years ago, I listened to Nemone when she was at Galaxy 102. After that, I discovered Mark Goodyear :)
the_dr

Or someones?

You know Virgin's not that bad to listen to. I had it on in the library today as the radio there only picks up MW, and the music they play is much better than the shite R1 playlist - they don't play dance just because its "hip and down with the kids" like R1 does and they only do a few links with lots of music in b'tween.
Its better than Emma " time for the million dollar question - what? We don't have a million dollars?" Botulism..god, I split my sides at that joke EVERY F.UCKING SATURDAY

Oh Fatboy, oh Fatboy, oh Fatboy. You stupid Indie fool. Radio One is a public service broadcaster aimed at young people, not aging Indie-obsessed 30 somethings. Radio One has duty to reflect whats popular at the moment - rap, dance or indie. It does support minority interests - dnb, jazz, rock - but it has to cater for the masses. It's not a dance music station like Kiss or post of ya tinpot radio stations.
R1 supports new music - when is the last time you heard a roots manuva or strokes song on local radio?
the_dr

And Baza: Your brother is 4 or whatever. He should not be listening to a radio station whos demographic is 30-50s. Very strange, but then you do listen to Radio 4 so I don't blame you.
the_dr

the confessional on century can be very funny, but the breakfast show is awful. why bother having an impressionist on the show if all he can do is fred elliot and a truly appalling mark lawrenson.
terry christian is on it aswell, and is a namedropping arse, but i have acquired some semblance of respect for him after he played the smashing pumpkins, new order and the smiths on a commercial station which usually plays at least two texas songs every hour
(im NOT joking)

Ian Polmear - on the pirate FM kind of like a really poor Adrian Juste (ask your parents Kids) is f**king shoccking. Did he sleep with Duncan Warren or something........
On Radio Cornwall we have the legend that is Chris Blount, with his gardening slots and easy listening sounds...........
On PLymouth Sound is something that GWR puts on en masse probably
On Marjons Subculture Radio is .............. no-one . At the moment we're off the air but when the Hoarester returns he will be the king .

Sat and today are up
