I agree bob, she was very talented and this is a very sad state of affairs. Not longer than a month ago she was on the front cover of NME, and now this. I own her album and it was very strong. Great voice, great production by Timbaland.
Sad fact - on CNN.com, the American lottery is the top story while Aaliyah is 4th or something. Expect a very somber Rhythm Nation tonight with Trevor Nelson, and a Biggy Smalls-style tribute song from Missy Elliot, Timbaland and maybe even R Kelly (who it was rumoured she married when she was about 14 years old).
Very sad
the_dr

I can't believe it - I only found out from u lot just now.
I remember only last year her song 'Try again' and every girl in my area was listening to it - and although I'm not one for female R 'n' B Ballads I had to admit I liked it.
She did have a great voice - and no this is not one of those things where someone dies and everyone starts going over the top; this is what I always thought but u never say it until something tragic like this happens.
She was only 22 - what a waste of a young life.
R.I.P Aaliyah.
