Finally James Sammon is named remixer of the month of get out there (BT) - he's kinda like a mate of a mate... and was the guy behind the Jason Nevins Vs Run DMC. And i have the white label of his remix! (which was no. 1 - voted by Shaun Ryder (Happy Monday's bloke).

If you can be bothered check it out: http://www2.getoutthere.bt.com/index2.cfm

Dr - yeah that one. He remixed it - and went through the whole process of releasing and distributing it through white label, and it progressed from there where major record labels became involved. I'll cut it short but basically they took his work (he ripped from various tracks/samples too), bought it off him and he got something like £5k from sales, whilst the RUN DMC guys got millions.

DJ Barcode is his alias now.

Ah! I remember seeing him talking about it on some documentary/nostalgia program - he was pretty pissed at only getting the remixers fee. One of the only singles I have actually bought :)

No sorry it wasn't the remix of 'it's like that'. Jason Nevins was a mate of James Sammon (Barcode) - he was pissed with only getting the remixers fee yes. Whilst Barcode went under the pseudonym of 'Pianoman' to produce 'Blurred'.

Though his remix that was voted #1 (by Shaun Ryder) on getouthere.bt.com has nothing to do with what i've just said above. sorry. :-/
