firstly iam not sexist or a woman beater,<br><br>but can someone tell me why it is acceptable for a woman to hit a man but outrageous if a man hits a woman?<br><br>this is not equality

We were looking at something to do with.. something (as in i dunno what it's classed as) with Domestic Violence, and we were all being very mature about how badly some men treat women, but as soon as the teacher mentioned that some women do beat men, everyone apart from a few people laughed.<br><br>This maybe one factor - when you hear about a man hitting a woman, it is normally associated with domestic violence, which is not nice, whereas when it's the other way around, it may seem like the woman has a genuine reason for it.. which leads to another point, how can it be justified for a woman to, but not a man?
