i just dont get this. whenever you think of greatest hits, yes blur desrved one, theyve been going for 10 years and have 6 albums. but this year has to be a bit crap. here are some examples<br><br>1 gabrielle-bearing in mind she began in 1993 but disappeared off the earth for 4 years and then waiting another 4 years. i wanna know how many greatest hits are on it. theres dreams,the one with east 17,out of reach, give me a little more time, walk on by and the 4 singles from rise plus obligatory new song which would make the album have 9 songs.<br><br><br>2 the corrs-right first album bombed and had no hits. second album had to be remixed before it got any in the charts<br>so thats runaway,so young,dreams,what can i do, then radio unplugged, breathless, give me a reason and a new one which would make 8 songs<br><br>3 steps-need i have to explain, no didnt think so<br><br>for gods sake wait 10 years before you do a greatest hits<br><br>ps. the most laughable being LOUISE GREATEST HITS, so desperate she had to put eternal songs on it to bump up the numbers<br><br>

i agree about the steps one they dont deserve one..however lousie has had lots of hits (add an s if neccesary) but she has been around for nearly 10 years<br><br>i think these bands need greatest hits albums<br><br>oasis, Manics (this is needed) U2 ( i know they had one but a full one with all the hits from all the years)

you wont have to wait long for manics, its out next year<br>u2 had a 1980-90 one<br>oasis have a new album out in the spring plus the live familiar to millions which i recommend<br>and even so Eternal had a greatest hits out as well

Ok, I confess. I downloaded Steps' Greatest Hits the other night. You'd be surprised by how many they have had I like it. I was mixing some of them together this evening. Very amusing - and amazing that all of them can mix into each other. I may make a small mp3 to demonstrate this one day.

the problem with greatest hits is that most bands best songs arent on them. loads of great oasis songs are only b sides (round are way, half the world away, masterplan, carry us on).

Well Texas have been around for like 10 years now and they have had many hits on the way. So I think that they did deserve to have a greatest hits album. As they did give it time before they brought one out.

i dont want a lover was released in 1989 and reached the top 10 but they disappeared after that. then chris evans started saying on tfi friday that she was gorgeous and where are they now. then she pops up and then releases say what you want after all the publicity she recieved from evans. then release another 3 singles from white on blonde until she goes and rereleases say what you want. follows that up with 3 top 20 hits from album The Hush, proves to be not as big a seller. so on the strength of white on blonde, she releases a best of. what was the point, only money and desperation.

I have to say the steps album isn't half bad!! But i agree it was too soon to bring it out.<br>Wham did have a greatest hits album... it was just very similar to their album, the final, in fact if anything.. the final is a better album than the greatest hits one.<br><br>as for great greatest hits albums...Def leppard Vault is superb<br>Bon Jovi crossroads is fantastic<br><br>As for oasis.. how would it be possible to choose which to put on it? Nearly all of whats the story would have to be there... many of their b sides... and loads more.<br>

I agree that Bon Jovi - Crossroads is an excellent album. There are many good groups out there who do deserve to have greatest hits albums. <br>I'm surprised that the spice Girls havn't thought of reasling one. I'm sure they would love the money.  >:(
