Not heard the new Hear'Say song, but Pure and Simple was a rip-off of All Saints and Oasis (as demonstrated in the Moyles parody).

damn right dr loz. i thought it reminded me of something i'd heard before, at first i thought it was because it sounded pure shite. hearsay dont want to look like a crappy covers band (bridge over troubled water :-*) so they just steal the melodies.

my sister, rather astutely for her, pointed out yesterday several similarities between certain aphex twin songs (gotta educate the pop worshipping fool somehow) and some amusing well known songs. remixes coming soon if they work :) if they do it's v funny

judging from your recent posts Monkey - i have my suspicions that your sister may be a secret 'techno bod' - the pop-loving/worshipping is merely a smokescreen :)

Five - (first ever commercial song, can't remember the title)

Got a mix of it with Last night a DJ saved my life, though i can't remember the artist(s) of that one. sorry - mate done it - quite minimalist but he has done many better ones since. Hence, the age of the 5ive song.

he has five kawai samplers, hooked up to his decks, computer, cd player, radio, tv, and face. also, a Roland BOSS SP-202 Dr. Sample, and several of his biaaatches.

hhhhhhonly joshin. he uses something called fruity loops, i think. :)

Nah - dont use that. Could do though.

I use 'Cool Edit Pro'. It's not the best, but I'm used to it now. I also use 'AtomixMP3' for live mixing (it has decks/mix fader/tempo changer - very simple and effective).

I had a dabble at the Steps megamix this afternoon, but couldn't be arsed in the end.

Geeky 'speel' - look awya now :)

Cool Edit is good, however other reccommendations from me: Sound Forge XP, Fruity Loops, Cool Edit Pro, Cubase VST (professional - what they use in studios), S-something (they use it at the BBC can't remember the name, sorry), and a load of others i shall come back with, if anyone really gives two sh*ts. :)

Sound Forge - good for vocals and the effects are more polished on there than Cool Edit.

You may look back at your screen :)
I use Cubase VST, Its very good but I have had it for 5 years and still find some bits hard to grasp and I am usually very good at computer programs. VST is more of a studio multi track like Sanjay said but I advise trying it if you're into making music with more than one track.

Eddie.
