Ok, bit of an 'adverse' topic here - but looking for a webhost for http://urg.djmixes.com - I myself don't know much about it but there is already an offer, and if anybody could beat this it would be great - and much appreciated.

£20 a month,
unlimited bandwidth
500mb webspace
plus FREE domain name thrown in
*and they gotta be cool about hosting MP3'S*

that's the existing offer we have at the moment, if anybody could shed more light on that it'd be great! Cheers all :)

When they say 'unlimited' they mean until it's too much.

I use Rockhosting.com

The company I work for offers web hosting, and I know that a £20/month account will not get you an awful lot.

The more you pay, the happier the provider will be to host mp3 files.

The site says it's averaging 2000 hits a month, say each visitor downloads one average size mp3 (say 4 meg), that would work out at 8 gig per month, just on mp3 transfer. Plus another 2 gig a month for people just browsing around the site (about that number for that amount of hits).

That's 10 gig each month data transfer. The server I run has an allowance of 15 gig per month, and that's £200/month.

So if you want reliable hosting with that amount of bandwidth, it's going to cost...doh!

M

I use Webfusion (I since renamed them Web-Fuse-Gone, since my server went down last week due to "a fuse blowing in my power rack").

I wouldn't recommend them at the moment...more "router problems" than you can shake a stick at...

M

Actually a coincidence .. I've never met him, nor is he in any way related to me.

I think I was one of their first customers .. so they asked if they could put it on their site.
