J-howogan casts his eye over the eurovision. http://www.eurovision.tv
CYPRUS- "Gimme" by One - Boy band Harmonies, dark horse will get 12 points from Greece. Very much in a gay Disco style
UK- "Come Back" by Jessica Garlic- Depends on the live performance, but the pop idolette should belt it out. I prefered trisha Penrose...
AUSTRIA- "Say a Word" by Manuel Ortega - Enrique smouldering from the oopham gentelmen
GREECE- "I Love You" by Michalis Rakintzis- Scary Michale Jackson era in Bad era however looks more like gary numan, but the song sounds a electronic la isla bonita
SPAIN- A gloriuous "it's great to be europe song" 'Europe's living a celebration' by Rosa- It's got a shit dance, disco disco disco, altogether now-- gloria gloria (ask your parents), powerful note and celine esque warble
CROATIA- "Everything I Want" by Vesna Pisarović - Weak croatian ballad, but heh they'll be back because I 'm sure part of the peace deal that brung solace to the Balkans included a deal for each other to vote for each other - Song's instantly forgettable sounds like Ace of Base with an orchestra- life is a free road....
RUSSIA- "Northern Girl" by Prime Minister - N Sync style part harmonies, easy on the ear, catchy, I wanna melt you northern girl. Break down of vocal girls...favourite so far. I'll be russian to my phone to vote for this one ho ho
ESTONIA- "Runaway" by Sahlene - The hosts entry is a Lena Marlin style pop guitar ballad. Will do well, Are Estonia the new Ireland??? Complete with KEY CHANGE!!!
FYROM (Former Yugoslav republic of Macedonia) - "It depends on us" by Karolina - The wartorn republic of Macedonia's biggest star, forgettable dull ballad. i fit wins it be because of Slobadan
ISRAEL- "Light A Candle" by Sahit Arhad - produced by the same time behind Dana International it is a sway your hands in the air. Reminds me of Nicole's "A Little Peace". A song for peace from the country that's currently killing more than most at the mo....
SWITZERLAND - 'Dans le jardin de mon âme' by Fancine Jordi - song sang in French (boo) and a break from the recent german sung ones, use of an Oboe, not heard since they changed the theme tune to emmerdale farm. Ballad that goes nowhere
SWEDEN - "Never Let go" by Afro-dite - the land of smorgsobrd and Sven give us a picture what Misteeq will look like when they are forty. Disco refuggess from a decade that Sweden obviously forgot
FINLAND- "Addicted to you" by Laura - Anastascia without the voice, more wicky wah disco music. Sounds like a album track for someone that does have a record contract due to poor album slaes.
DENMARK - " Tell Me Who You Are" by Malene - Malene shares something with our Jess Garlic she also got to the final of Star for a Night, although the Danish version we are spared from Jane Mc Donald...Very good uptempo show, a dabble and very powerful song. Contender
BOSNIA HERZGOVINA - 'Fairytales About Love' by Maja - Sounds like a theme from a crapppy c list celbrity chat show. All these of war and state control radio, means that they think the Committment style songs are good--when in fact....
BELGUIM - "Sister" by Sergio and the Ladies - Antwerp's Tom Jones, and more committements type stuff. Or a reject from reload. Probably won Belgium's stars in their eyes who knows. this is Tom boyo
FRANCE (booo) - 'Il faut du temps' by Sandrine Francois - Ballad, celine album track b/w video reminds me of Celine....more the * pity... Strong voice and ballad, the bookies favourite, but it'll stand out, but very dull, slow sopey and "now it's time for the last record of the evening"
GERMANY- " I can't live without Music" by Corrina May - more anatasica and a little bit of kylie bassline. Very very catchy, the krauts are taking it seriously again. Sweet, if not a litlle basseyesque- but high note and DJ Otzi ending. If cack is good then here's your winner
TURKEY - "Lilacs filled Your heart" by Buket Bengisu and group Saphire - Turkey usually are shite, last year i think they did well, but normal service resumed complete with eastern giutars and flutes, coming to a casbah collection near you soon
MALTA- "7th Wonder" by Ira Losco - The countyr that gives us 12 points or else they don't get any of our money. Easy on the ears, ok allrgith forgettable. People will remember this. Good hook in the chorus. KEY CHANGE and effect!!!
ROMANIA- "Tell Me Why" by Monica Anghel, Marcel Pavel - Piano ballad, woman looks like Liza Tarbuck and guitar. Like fingernails down the black board. no more tears no more fears nothing more to stay together. Song about messsy divorces complete with an over enthuastic saxophonists
SLOVENIA - "Only Love" by Sestre - the Slovenia song had the totty of the year. this year it's going to be a "drag" as three burly blokes done air hostess outifits, to perform a crappy act. It stinks worse than lisa riley's armpits after she's exercising in the sauna
LATVIA - "I Wanna" by Marie N -very Ricky martin she bangs type of stuff, latino will be popular with the spaniards, uptempo. ayeeyeyeyayaya
LITHUANINA - "Happy You" by Aivaras - Blame russia for all these countries. Looks like Mick Hucknall. Happy enough, vocal a bit ropey as Holly esque kiss moment in it. Mid table performance for Estonia's next door neighbours
This post is serves two reasons-1 if i am drunk like last year i can remember what the songs sound like and 2- for you to in the words of Bucks Fizz " making your mind up"
