He's right though. Yeah, I agree it was a tragedy but Christ, move on people. It gets boring if it's done every year. Even the papers aren't making a big deal of it this time round.

Should take a moment to remember all the innocent victims in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
While we're at it, there's all the victims of the due to the IRA, on both sides, there's numerous wars, other terrorists strikes, other Government sanctioned strikes... if you go on about it, you don't have time to do anything else.
I think what pisses people off is the indignation of the US as it says, "Why would anyone not like us and want to bomb us?"

i must admit, that got to me. thats ridiculous. who WOULDNT want to bomb you?

(i know it was a nasty thing to say today, but the american government thinks so much of itself!)

RIP American public!

why when the english talk about the troubles over here do they only ever mention the IRA? what about UDA, LVF, UVF, LFF. and to say the IRA is a bit of a generalisation....Real IRA, Provisional IRA, Continuity IRA

America's war against terrorism is a war against itself. IRA, israeli action against palestinians. all unjust.

And 9/11 could all be avoided

Hence the generalisation.....

i feel like i should comment on this, as i am the most visible american on this board.

what happened 2 years ago today was horrible and tragic. what is even more horrible and tragic is that it seems like nobody has learned ANYTHING from the situation. the crisis in the middle east has only worstened and hate and misunderstading is at an all time high. the us government has done nothing to improve our international relations, and people feel sorry for us. they should feel sorry for us that we're such a narcisitic county that has tricked britian into bullying the world with us.

i feel sympathy for all the victims around the world in this cultural and religious war. i do not feel sympthaty for all of the perpetrators.

and lewis, i hope your "god bless america" was meant to be satircal. that song sickens me. it's a perfect example of the exceptionalism that is killing our nation. chris rock's film "head of state" had it right when the republican presidential candidate kept saying "god bless america, and no one else!" that's essentially what it means.

ugh.

michael moore is an idiot who just panders two people who are dissatisfied but too lazy and fat to want to do anything about it. the man is a hypocrite who's made millions trying to act like a whistle blower.

im not all that bothered by the terrorism thing, especially when like everyone in africa has AIDS and stuff. but i do think its a good time to sort out the world. if we leave these evil regimes alot of people are gonna suffer for a very long time and cause large scale problems until they are sorted out. if you go in, make things bad for a while and then leave a good infrastructure for democracy at least the people will have hope, no matter what security problems they have. once we're out things are definately gonna look better and people will see that its not some evil thing we're doing to them. once they are sorted out i think it may take a long time but they will be on a journey towards becoming a succesful nation, and under an evil guy this would be delayed indefinately. probably until he dies, at which time there may be some very bloody civil wars that will take much many more lives than the short war we carried out. and then they are just 25 years behind what they will be when we foff.

completely random rant i know so ill shush now

i don't deny that there are horrible and opressive governments in the world, and i think more "reasonable" or "developed" nations should act as a model or guide for them. should these nations intervene to help the average citizen, at times when it is mutlilateral it would make sense. should nations do so unilateraly? no. should these "developed" nations benefit financially from this act? no. this is my problem with america. we're too busy spreading our brand of democracy in some twisted sense of mercantilism that we can't see the rest of the world resents us.

yes kendra the motivation may be wrong, the current US government may stink of shit and suck in all kinds of ways. but i don't think the current actions will change many peoples views on america one way or the other. having said that my view has changed a bit, now the US is a lot more interested in world affairs, which whether you like what they do or not is a good thing, rather than the very self obsessed attitudes of the past.

yes and on the day we find out that Mussolini never killed nobody your honour. what we need is one big union of countries where they can talk out issues instead of resorting to war..... a kind of United Nations if you will.

oh. bugger.
