i have bought the Dido CD and I wan to copy it for my sister and for my friend but it has copyright control on it. That means when i try and copy from cd to cd, it says that it doesnt read it or that no tracks have been selected even though i have the cd in and picked all the tracks.
Is there a program on the internet, preferbly free, that will rip the songs and stick them on my C:drive so i can put them on a blank cd.

I tried CDEX but it didnt work.

ANY HELPERS or do I have to buy another Dido album. I dont really want to because shes got enough money as it is.

They must make normal versions and copyright protected versions of these cds, as they said the Darkness album was copyright protected but mine isn't.

Isn't the copyright-ing just a thin bit of data round the outer edge of the cd?
I remember reading people said all you had to do was draw a black line round this outer section of the cd and the copyrighting info couldn't be read, making the cd regular again.

Not having any copyrighted cds I haven't tried this yet.

i use a program called musicmatch jujebox which copied both of my copyright cds.

i had to put in the cd then reboot the comp and open the program up beause if i put the cd in after i switched on the comp, it recognised it as copyright and wouldnt work.

Oh, I've always used musicmatch jukebox. So maybe my cd did have copyright protection on it then.

Just record the tracks to .wav files then write them to CD.

I had this problem when I wanted to put the Darkness album on to minidisc using the computer. I found that using Real One could copy it onto the computer, and then I used Real One's devices section to upload it to the minidisc...

but you can also use Real One to write CD's aswell... so try that if you wish.

Oh, and the new Dido album is good. Track 11, See the Sun being the best.

I've already told you; record all the tracks to .wav files, then you should be able to write them to CD.

it doesnt work recording them to a wav file on my computer (used various different programs, including the extract cd audio in cool edit pro 2), thats why I used Real One and it worked fine.

Basically - its a sign, spend another £10 and actually buy the album. Not being able to copy a cd doesn't bother me (I think its a good thing to an extent) I just wish it knew what I was only wanting to make a copy for myself to put on minidisc so I could listen to it when i was out the house (but again, this is illegal)...

It should be possible, even if you have to resort to using a 2-way jack to connect the Spk Out to the Line In ports.
