i don't think dickie is useless. it's nice to see him talk about more than recording the show. but seriously, dickie, i don't see the point of this poll. are you doing market research or summat? we're not a reliable source.

I'm thankful to be on dial-up after all the problems I had getting it sorted.

I get ultra-fast connection on the uni lab machines though, so can't complain.

Don't you ever think that the person(s) who run a web-site may like to know the "typical" connection speed of its users.

It allows them to know how to go about the content of the site.

P.S. If you don't like the topic it's not difficult to not make a post.

A few months back, I tried connecting my Dad's old computer to the internet with it's 300 baud modem. It did actually manage to connect (after numerous attempts) but crashed when you tried to do anything.
At work we have some manner super fast wide bandwidth line. At home I'm trying to decide which adsl company to go with. http://www.adslguide.org is helpful for a suggestions. I was just going to get a 512 line from plusnet but a friend just signed up with Bulldog and is going on about his 4MBit line. Am eriously considering spending the extra for at least a 1MBit line.

That's what we have in Bosworth. First place in the UK to have it so I'm told. Bloody pricey though.
