A young guy of 17 is recruited by this large shopping center and his first meeting is with the general manager, who tells him that targets are set for realistic sales figures to be reached by all staff, anyone who gets beyond these will receive a bonus and 20% of that is his.
So on to the shopfloor he goes and tries very hard to catch his first customer, after the days shopping closes he gets a call to go to the managers office immediately, with slight trpidation he makes his way to the office there he is greeted by a whole bunch of senior staff who all look bemused. "Sit down please " he's requested. The manager looks him in the eye and asks "how did you achieve sales figures this high on your first day becoming the most prolific salesman already this month" to which he replies "well this man came in and asked for a pack of fishing hooks and it all went on from there". The manager in disbelief says "fishing hooks you made all this money from a pack of fishing hooks".
"No"replies the young man it was like this "this man came in and wanted some fishing hooks, I said "you'll need some line for that and probably a new reel" to which he replied "yes your right" then I said "you probably need a new rod and a tackle box and i've also heard that the bass are now feeding so really you could do with a boat and you will need something to pull it so I took him to the car section where he bought a new range rover.
The manager flabbergasted looks round at all the senior sales staff and says £146,452 in one sale all because a man needed fish hooks, to which the young man replies "no no not because he needed fish hooks he came in and asked for tampax, I said "your weekends * you may as well go fishing".
