Good luck to them. The biggest thing to happen to Inverness in a while.

I'm glad they won. As Adam said it is probably the biggest thing to have happened in Inverness for a long time. The tourist board will be delighted because they are gonna get a massive free 3 hour plug on the day Chris does his show up there.

Also, the guy from Inverness Council was the only one of the three that sounded in anyway sane...

and that day only, the show will sound a little closer to home. Lets hope they don't do dreadfull Scottish accents through the whole show and talk about kilts, bagpipes and haggis.

Do you get that already on Local radio?

oes Chris and the team just do a bad job of being Scottish?

Na local radio doesn't do that - because all the presenters are Scottish so they don't make arses of themselves.

Chris and the team do VERY bad jobs of it. Most Scots don't have Glaswegian accents... including me. I (and the majority of most Scots) have never played the bagpiipes, or work a kilt. and I hate Haggis.

:D

1 sheep's pluck (stomach bag)
2 lb.. dry oatmeal
1 lb. suet
1 lb. lamb's liver
2 1/2 cups stock
1 large chopped onion
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper, Jamaica pepper and salt

Boil liver and parboil the onion, then mince them together. Lightly brown the oatmeal. Mix all ingredients together. Fill the sheep's pluck with the mixture pressing it down to remove all the air, and sew up securely. Prick the haggis in several places so that it does not burst. Place haggis in boiling water and boil slowly for 4-5 hours. Serves approximately 12.

Tourist? You sure?

It is really far for the tourist to go to? I thought Edinburgh was furthest they go. And they think Scotland ends.

Still should be good.

Of course it's far for the tourist to go, it's the city furthest north. 572 miles from London.

It's not far for the tourist to go if they're from newcastle or somewhere in the north of england

You can get flights to Inverness...but probably quite expensive. Just imagine, it could have been here. Can't get any further in the UK.

And just to back up, its a minority that speak broad Glaswegian. I have no idea where my accent comes from, it's rather dull.

I would of "accidently" been turning up at Radio Shetland while their show was on if that was the case.

course it is. it's about 3 hours from manchester to glasgow anyway. If you were to travel from here to Inverness I would estimate it'd take around 6-7 hours so that in my book is too far to go.

shut up. the point was that it was assumed that the only way to enter the country for a tourist was london. as long as people keep believing that london will blight this country..

I love London, it's great to go there every now and again and not just because I know some mates there. Covent Garden is one of my favourite places.

Up until recently I thought Covent Garden was a real garden.

I too like London, fine place to be. Wouldn't like to work there though.

maybe my views on London aint as harsh as Alans... but not being used to the big cities, it was a big change for me.
