By obtaining more points. I realise american sports have these bizarre systems of scoring and east, west, american, national or whatever leagues but it is pretty simple.

The only time i ever hear about the Owls is when the fans get into fights

psh the blades....

sidders, i'm american- meaning i should like manchester or arsenal because they're winners.

golden dog- the regional disvisions make sense and a reminscent of the old days when those used to be individual leagues. back in the day, the mlb western division had atlanta in it for some reason. pissed me to no end as they kept beating the sf giants for division champ. this is all fixed now though.

kendrak, who is loyal to the blue and white (except when it's the l.a. dodgers, they can suck it.)

Not at all, I support the Blades because I live next door to them. When I came to Sheffield I was under the impression that Wednesday were the better team.

Well done Scotland but England, rubbish as Chris might say. Surely all this arrests and fines crap is affecting the team. Here is the team that should play

1. David Seaman

2. Gary Neville
3. Rio Ferdinand
4. John Terry

5. Beckham
6. Butt
7. Gerrard
8. Parker

9. Scholes

10. Owen
11. Rooney

subs
12. Beattie
13. Robinson
14. Campbell
15. Dunn
16. Cole
17. Lampard
18. Smith
19. Walker

He should play that team apart from Seamen. Not because hes too old, but hes made a few mess ups in the past few games.

and besides, he's retired from internatinal football

he's shit anyway - look at some of the goals he's conceded for city this season (p.s I know Robinson has too for Leeds but you've got to go for youth now and look to the future)

Well done to both Scotland and wales. I was an honorary scot yesterday. Fantastic match and result....although they are going to f*cking hammered in the second leg, but at least things are looking up.

Wales I think will actually qualify although I have a feeling Russia will score that dreaded away goal.

England - quite a good performance in the first half but (apart from a couple of moments) crap in the second.

my first choice 11 -

ROBINSON
GARY NEVILLE
FERDINAND
CAMPBELL
COLE
BUTT
GERRARD
BECKHAM
SCHOLES
ROONEY
OWEN

Replace Rooney with Heskey and Robinson with James and that would be my team.

bob, how are you going to play a back three with a neville in there?? it just wont work.
By Aaron

Gary Neville isnt that bad and hes better than Phil. He only has one real contender for the right back position and thats Glen Johnsen.

yea hes the best they have at the minute bar glen johnsen, but there is no way neville could operate effectivly in a back three. hes a liability. he only works in a back four. in my humble opinion.

We'll have to see. Maybe he'll proves all wrong if he plays in a back three.

Seriously bob your team would be eaten alive. having been at the match today (about 600ft above the pitch in fact..) the best players were rooney, cole an parker when he came on. My team:

1. David James (no other real choice an although im not a fan he is better than he used to be)
2. Gary Neville (cos Glen Johnson isnt ready yet)
3. Wayne Bridge (because he knows he is a defender... take note cole)
4. Sol Campbell (no fuss just welly it)
5. John Terry (one of the most improved players)
6. Frank Lampard (if we have no decent left sided player just play any decent player)
7. David Beckham (has class.)
8. Steven Gerrard (still not lost with him in the team... even if hes a red sh*te)
9. Rooney (plays well for england... not us)
10. Mickey Owen (even though he is welsh)
11. Paul Scholes (can provide the final ball)

subs
12. Ferdinand
13. Seaman
14. Ball
15. David Thompson
16. Hibbert
17. Jenas
18. Johnson
19. Unsworth...

How's about:

1. David James (Hasn't played too badly for England yet)

2. Gary Neville (Whatever people say he has experience and has played on the highest levels of club football)
3. Wayne Bridge (As Above)
4. Sol Campbell (Hoof!)
5. Rio Ferdinand (People slate, but in the this season & the last Utd's defence has been one of, if not, the best in the League.

6. Stevie Gerrard (How 'ard - Gerrard!)
7. Becks (Need i say more)
8. Paul Scholes (Quality)
11. This place is still up for grabs, if Alan Thompson gets picked for friendlies (and plays well) he could really solve our left sided problem.

9. Wayne Rooney (Turns it on for England, which is good enough for me)
10. Michael Owen (Give him a chance, 9/10, he'll take it)

This is probably our best team but Sven will have defensive midfielders to drop into the team as not every game we'll play in Euro 2004 will allow such an attacking midfield.

Listen to the football genius.

Gerrard can play defensively if asked. he is better going forward though.
