Westlife - Mandy (never heard it, guessing it's the usual dirge though.)
White Stripes - Hardest Button to Button (top tune - won't be number one though)
Alex Parks - Maybe Thats What It Takes (i really like this song. deserves to be number one but probably won't be)
Kevin Lyttle - Turn Me On (hate it. sh*t)
Misteeq - Style (it's ok. like everything else they do though)
Girls Aloud - Jump (good version of it and they are all fit - totp saturday yesterday omg)
Busted - Crashed the Wedding (crap but the kids love it)
Britney & Madonna - Me Against the Music (should have been number one last week but will fall down this)

for me the winner is...alex parks (but it'll probably be busted again)

I also voted Alex Parks. It will probably be Westlife and yes MC it is that usual crap they bring out. I really do hope its Alex Parks and I think she has quite a good chance of making it to the top spot.

her album though falters as shes put covers of imagine, beautiful and yellow on it. I thought Fame Academy was about song writing too.

I haven't heard the Alex Parks song. Is she the Fame Academy bird? I know it was someone called Alex who was in that.

Westlife - Mandy

This is a really weak cover of Barry Mannilow. It doesn't even deserve to get into the Top 40, due to it's lame vocals and unoriginality.

White Stripes - Hardest Button to Button

I would like this song to be Number 1, but I doubt it will get there. I predict an entry at Number 4. Shame really, because it is catchy and very good.

Alex Parks - Maybe Thats What It Takes

This will be the number 1. Only due to the fact it's fromthe Fame Academy winner. It's a nice enough song, her voice sort of grates on top of it though and screeches in place. It's nothing special, but not my type of music.

Kevin Lyttle - Turn Me On

Horrible, with a huge capital H. I really hate this song.

Misteeq - Style

Very samey, they should try something new. The vocals are uninteresting and it's nothing new.

Girls Aloud - Jump

Argh! Every time this comes on the radio I turn over. No idea what the original was like, but this is hideous.

Busted - Crashed the Wedding

I really don't like Busted, I think it was that teacher song that scared me to begin with. It's so cheesy, it perhaps has appeal to 9 year olds who save their pocket money to buy it, but I can't stand something so kitsch and irritating.

Britney & Madonna - Me Against the Music

This should have been in the top spot today. Very catchy tune. Sure it's not great, but music just now isn't.

the alex parks song is good but i think she should have released something a bit rockier (if there's such a word) for her first single

I think if Alex Parks had released something rockier it would be too expected and similar to so many other songs around at the moment. I hope she does get to 1, but i doubt she will

It's not crap, it's good. It's the only song that realistically could be number 1 that should be.

midweek chart sales sites

problem is that on a saturday, kiddies go out and buy the pop. Alex isnt as pop as Westlife and Girls Aloud are so I think she will actually struggle to get to 3 as well.

Even without the recent bad publicity it would of gone in at number 1. I doubt that helped.

I have a 'Michael Jackson Number Ones ' Whistle..
