I use a mixture of Kazaa Lite and Win MX. I prefer Win MX, find it a lot easier to work with. (But I know more use Kazaa, more likely for results etc...) http://www.winmx.com I think.

Sidla's so wholesome. If you would like to donate me lots of money for music, I'd gratefully accept it.

I do without P2P as it has VERY slow download rates compared to a data server.

Downloading music then donating money for doing it. Genius.

or buying the music(once it's released) and paying the people that made it would be even better. It's a shame people don't like parting with their money for something they can get for free

Nah, he would be donating the money for me to purchase wholesome music in CD format. We could start a Gem Cd Charity.

It's not something I do often, due to a very bad connection. If I respect the artist, their album will get bought - Red Hot Chilis, Dido, Coldplay, The Darkness, Muse, Moby..etc.

I used to try out one track off the internet then if I thought it was any good then I'd buy it, Now I dont bother doing either I find humming the tune is a lot cheaper than buying and a lot less illegal.

I very rarely use P2p anymore. I cant be arsed with it. Too slow and the downloads you get are usually rubbish quality in comparison with the CD.

What I will use it for sometimes is downloading songs BEFORE they are released or available on CD. Then once the CD is out, I usually end up buying it anyway.

Why do people now use these paid download services? They don't seem any cheaper than CDs and you don't get a nice pretty case. And the songs are often all messed up on p2p things anyway.

The paid things are supposed to be official downloads so they guarentee quality

Music fans who download songs from the internet go on to buy more albums, a survey has suggested.
The survey's findings oppose the music industry's long-standing argument that internet downloading is responsible for a slump in CD sales, with album sales falling 5% in the last year.

Market research company Music Programming Ltd (MPL) said 87% of its respondents who downloaded music admitted they bought albums after hearing tracks through the internet.

An MPL spokesperson said: "Downloading is actually a 'try before you buy' tool for a significant amount of people.

"It allows people to sample new music and decide whether or not to buy it - it is not necessarily a replacement for purchase."

I only download singles, scan through the R1 playlist and grab stuff off Kazaa. As you can get albums off of play.com for about £7 -£9 i much prefer having the CD quality version. Don't think i'm one of these people downloading every abum and film known to man. As mentioned p2p download rates are often crap. Album prices i don't have a problem with but singles costing what they do is a farce. When you see some singles @ £3 or £4, that's about half an album at internet prices, that's my only bitch against the music industry..

That and the fact that it costs about 50p to make an album, so when you think about it even £7 is not a brilliant price. I appreciate that they have to cover the costs of recording and make a profit as well, but you only have one recording cost and they are still making an extortionate profit.
