Calm down I mean George W. although techincally they are both "front bum" slang.
Bush arrives later today I believe to be the first president to come on an official state visit for donkeys years (technical term relating to the reign of our current monarch). Now I wasnt particularly for the war in Iraq or, in fact, particularly against it and I respect the right to protest that will no doubt occur over the next few days.
My problem is this: whatever you think about Bush he is the US president and as such is a representative of the whole nation. Now I like to believe the whole of the US isnt full of ignorant, passport-less morons as some would have you believe.
We have to remember every country has its share of fools and that both the major political parties in this country backed the war. Bush was elected to make decisions for his people and the verdict on those decisions is for the american electorate not us. If I were to protest in London this week it would be Tony Blair I would be rallying against.
While we sit callling Bush a warmonger we stink of hypocracy and it was our governments place to take a stand against it... they didn't.
