The housemates' pleas to watch today's England v Argentina match went unheeded by Big Brother and the group had to make do with footy chat.

To begin with the housemates appeared quietly confident that they would get their wish.

Kate woke up and dressed in her red England top, PJ wrapped himself in his England flag and Spencer busied himself in the Diary Room.

The cheeky 22-year-old presumptuously asked the all-seeing eye how many of the House's plasma screens the match was going to be shown on while Lee repeatedly pleaded with BB down his microphone.

And at one point, the group believed that their prayers had been answered, when, shortly after 11:30 they were called into the girls' bedroom.

Under the impression that BB was preparing a treat for them outside, the 11 were then cruelly disappointed when they emerged 40 minutes later to find that in fact there were no beers, rattles, or TV screens, but just the lounge as they'd left it.

Leicester lad Lee beseeched Big Brother, "This is the biggest World Cup game of 2002."

And then he, Spencer and PJ made one-last ditch attempt in the Diary Room, but to no avail.

As the time to kick-off ticked away, the housemates resigned themselves to their lack of footy action and instead made their way into the garden.

Hi, Narinder here again. Is Big Brother really a reality gameshow? It seems more like a late night dating show with everyone trying to cop off with each other!

There's Kate all over Spencer like a bad rash (and it's so obvious she finds new girl Sophie a real threat), Alison sitting on Jonny's lap, and Jade fancying Mr-I-Have-No-Personality-Or-Looks PJ. They say Alex is losing his mind, but at least he's entertaining!

I have been finding the whole thing sooo boring but Alex has really cheered me up. It's worth watching just to see his little ways and hear the things he comes out with! And he's right about the wee - I have spoken to Elizabeth, Stuart, Amma and Brian, and we all agree that NEVER would have happened in our house. It's disgusting. And Alex is cute, despite his skinny legs.

Jade is the biggest stirrer I have seen. She goes from one person to the next, telling stories whilst pretending to be so sickly sweet. Ugh! She even wore the same top as Helen, she desperately wants to be her.

You can tell how people really feel from their reasons for nominating people. I think Lee gave reasons true to his heart, as did Alex... but why was Alison shouting?

This bunch are a vicious lot. They all need booting out, starting with Alison. My fave to win at the moment is Sophie, as Spencer has smelly feet...

Which is an absolute lie, as was corrected on BBlb earlier tonight when they phoned Carmen and she said Lee had done nothing really wrong yet. Which is strange, as you'd think RI:SE, a Channel 4 show, would check up on their callers instead of chase for ratings.

If Carmen and Lee had any sense they'd have talked about the implications of Lee going into the house before it happened. It looks as if that happened, as Carmen seems to be OK with things so far. - jc

I reckon its just spoilt the whole concept of Big Brother completely. I thought it would be good, but lets just say, I haven't watching it since. The damn producers should just have it for the week, but they are having it for the whole show till it ends.

I knew straight away that it would be shite when they finished the task. Yes it was poorly thought out. A bunch of chimps could of done better.

Its quiet depressing to have a bunch of people locked up with nothing to do, who clearly haven't bonded like the other BB. They are always crying. Sandy can't stop being a loner (He has to go out next), Alex is coming on alright and has realised that moaning is the best thing to do with a bunch of people. Lee is a twat for gloating about the Luxury and should have his head kicked in for that. *Chickhen sheds*. I will laugh if he goes to hell (the ironic). Adele is alright. Jade looked a mess when she woke up from her Bday, with her make up still on. PJ just talks Sex, all the bloody time. Sophie and Kate are fit. Yet to still see Sophie in the Pool yet.

Well, Audtions could of been held for MWBB1.. That was done rather quick. Hold on for a sec,reading the rules here... Are the people that are in the House, not allowed to post on the main board. How long is this going on for? Nooooo. How boring.

I could always compare Eddie to Alex for being a moaning old hag. So we should just keep him in there, like they have done with the really thing. Why the fook, did everyone not just vote Sandy out instead of the Fat, Funny Brummie Bird.... Are you people thick?
