I see. They must also have to set up thinks so they can play trails and jingles etc, or are they just on MiniDisk? And how does Chris play his sound effects, I would not have thought they would be on computer as they have been playing them for years.

Do they do shows like the Hit 40 UK or whatever it's called like this, or is it satellite?

Hello Scott Mills, if you are reading this. I don't want to be a DJ, by the way, I am just inquisitive.

Oh, and David, have you stolen Moyles' signature?

It was an o.k. show, not as good as yesterday's. The callers for the stuff you can win are just plain funny.

I think as far as OB's from the Pub or Inverness when they are only one day at a time are done from minidisc there and then. Yet when they went to America, I remember Chris having to give cues back to London so they could play the trails on time. This was because they were in America for the week so trails would be changing (like breakfast ones for example.

Commericial Radio is a mystery. How ever as it is going out on lots of stations, I would reckon each station would probably just pull it from a satalite feed. You have to remember that comercial radio doesn't generally have as much money as the BBC to splash out on high tech equipment.

Hi Scott... I do wanna be a DJ.

shows that rely on text messages all the time do bore me.

If I had a pound for every time Chris read out the text message number today for that voting thing....

I know it has to be told and some listeners STILL dont get it, yet it gets a bit wearing after a while.

I guess it depends on whether you can get mobile radio man comps.

if so then there'd be no probs just setting it up on site and playing out the jingles as normal.

hmmm, aled???

Wow, this is a geeky subject innit! Anyway, Chris ID's and Radio 1 ID's are off MD. If you're sharp enough you'll notice Chris' sound FX don't travel with us on OBs. The Cartwall is a Radio 1 building thing only.

Yehh! He's always good on interviews and would make a perfect guest. Did anyone hear when he was on last time? Bruce - oh come on.. Trust Sidla to vote for him.

Who said he was a crap guest? Having Bruce on the Chris Moyles Show would surely not fit the profile of the show and appeal to some of its audience.

Legend - I agree. He's getting a new show, I think.

It would appeal to me, and I'm target audience. Chris did say on his show that he thinks Bruce would find him 'low-life talentless scum' or words to that effect. I disagree, I think Bruce and Chris would get on quite well.

Aled:

Well, I thought geeky was better than pointless or arguing. I thought they played "Aye, It's me Tony Byrne" from Leeds? What is a Cartwall? I guess it's not a wall to stop carts from going through.

If you are worried about swearing during interviews, can't you use one of those 7 second delays the commercial stations use for phone inns?

He was there live. It's possible we did take it up on MD, but I think it was a live one.

I'm avoiding answering the swearing question!

Aled, whats the process in deciding which people you call back when doing comps and stuff? Do you judge on the 30 seconds worth of chat you do, or is it totally random/

*bitter that I didn't get a phonecall back today* :(

You probaly won't answer this but I'll try anyway,

When Chris goes to Breakfast, will he scrap all his old jingles and beds and use new ones? Is he going to keep some of them to play or not?

Aled wrote:He was there live. It's possible we did take it up on MD, but I think it was a live one.

He did take ages to find it, so it could have been either.

Aled wrote:I'm avoiding answering the swearing question!

Fair enough. It just seems bizarre how they allow celebrities who are very likely to swear such as Ali G and Avid on air when they could use a delay. Maybe swearing is good publicity.

Aaron wrote:When Chris goes to Breakfast, will he scrap all his old jingles and beds and use new ones? Is he going to keep some of them to play or not?

I suspect it will be all new. He needs some new beds etc anyway; I am sick of most of the current ones.

Hi Aled, spoke to you on Monday when I won the seaman wig.

Here's a link to the webboard that discusses it and whether or not I do actually win it as have had nothing from anyone to say you'll be sending it. Is the moylesbay.com just a gag feature or are you actually planning to clear out this tat? If I'd won that lightening reaction thing, it'd be counting the days till I got it and electricuted all my friends. Sounds like you got it bad today!

i thought they would actually be giving them out but to be fair, theyre prob very busy sorting stuff for new show and you gotta give it time.

(i'm not one to speak, the most impatient person in the world)

if in 2 weeks time you havent heard, i think you should forget about it

The ones I like and I think will work well with Chris. There are SO many different factors though it rarely goes as you expect it to!

I'm sorry you didn't get a call back today.
