UPDATE:

if you're really geeky:

this is taken from music4 (the new name for vibe)

"project minisite > bbc radio 1 - chris moyles back to showreels

chris moyles takes over bbc radio 1's flagship breakfast show in january, and music 4 has been commissioned to produce the themes and branding for the show on bbc radio 1. chris will be working closely with the team atmusic 4 throughout the year to ensure the branding and themes are as sharp as the show itself.
chris who moves from radio 1's massively popular drive-time show says, "i know exactly what i want with the style of the tracks. luckily with sandy being from leeds, he understands what i'm saying when i'm drunk".

this latest contract continues a long running relationship with the station, established in 1998. music 4 was the first british music company to produce station branding for bbc radio 1 and has worked with the station on a regular basis ever since. commenting on the latest commission, music 4's managing director, sandy beech, said, "chris is one of the most creative broadcasters in the uk and we are looking forward to composing his theme tunes and branding elements. we will also be working across music-based comedy elements and even spoof commercials. chris is on a mission to make his show the most successful breakfast show in the uk and we are happy to be part of that challenge".

...online examples of the imaging created for the launch of the show will be available here at http://www.music4.com straight after chris's first show on january the 5th (so enjoy the show on radio 1, then check out the imaging highlights, right here, from 10am on monday the 5th of january). "

Looks like it will be called 'The Chris Moyles show', not breakfast or anything like that. The advert works by the way.

yeah I saw this in the radio times... better if they just called it "Chris Moyles" to keep it in line with all the other show names...

Why?

consistency (is that how you spell it?)

Nearly every other show on the network is known as "Firstname Lastname" in the schedule. Although I suppose it does make itself stand out a bit more...

I'm sure it's in the nature of the show to be different. Maybe the name should represent that!

well, you know best!

Who does all the details for the radio times (other listing magazines are avaliable), and the show information for all the various text things like RDS and sky?

I remember for about a week Chris kept having a go at the people doing the RDS text because it said Emma B was onair when it should of been him, so they started sending messages to Chris via the medium of RDS.

I think The Chris Moyles show sounds alright, better than Radio 1 Breakfast with Chris Moyles.

How does RDS work, then? I take it the stations can't controll their own titles.

I dunno how much they do it anymore, but certainly a few years ago RDS text was being used quite a lot with show information.

Note this is like scrolling RDS text which some radios have and not the normal RDS Station name which all car radios etc use.

I think it's our Radio 1 online team who deal with all interactive stuff including RDS. We're thinking of playing with the digital text that you get on Digital Radios... keep your eyes open.

now all we need is Digital Radio in Shetland :P

Shetland is always about a decade behind everyone else for things like that!

I just noticed something... and sorry if this has been posted somewhere else...

http://www.chrismoyles.net/mw/webcam.shtml

Before the webcam changes to show Emma B on air - we get to see Dave and Chrs and Co piloting... including a very tired looking Dave. But who can blame him, it was January 2nd!

well spotted dave. I wonder (perhaps Aled can tell us) if they take the pilots 100% serious? Surely if it's not actually going out on air and the news/callers are fake - then you can't really get "into it" like you would with an actual show.

I've not explained that very well but I think you get my drift.

Dave isn't half asleep in the corner on any of the "real" webcam shots either

It doesn't look good for people who want the listen again feature (me included). Looking at the schedule on radio1, it has listen again next to the show you can listen again to - ironically, but fo Chris's show it doesnt have one.

i don't understand the big deal about getting moyles on listen again...

is it essential you hear every minute of the show? - any funny bits are usually posted on here, bob/mc reviews the shows (i assuming this still happening)

what stops you recording the show yourself if you desperately wanna hear it all?

Yeah - I am sure they'd like to take it seriously, but if I was the DJ would i not feel like "well its not going out on air, who cares if I am sloppy this link... etc."
