Taped the show today to listen later on as I don't start uni until next week, so I didn't really get a feel for how it would be to actually listen in the morning, but it mostly sounded good!

Pros:
-news chat (to clarify: chatting with the newsreaders AFTER they'd finished was good, interrupting the bulletin was not)
-car park catchphrase - not bad, but try and get someone with an IQ above 8 to be a contestant next time: "Count your chicken eggs"?!
-buzz off - yes, it's another excuse to play old records, but this is for Chris' ego, not Dave's. Probably only in here cause I like the Lightning Seeds.
-the opening jingle - won't get played again, but was hilarious! Actually only funny the 1st time, so don't bother with repeats.

Cons:
-Victoria Beckham - booooooring. Nobody cares about her life or if the kids are riding around on a Harley Davidson.
-Wes - would be good, but Chris got it wrong when he said Wes got up at 5 to 7 and woke up at 7:15, Wes actually woke up about 10:30, cause he clearly was sleeptalking through that link. C'mon Wes, wakey wakey!
-Critisising Sophie Ellis-Bextor - hey Chris? Remember when the Spiller record came out all those years ago? Remember when you declared on national radio that you really fancied the woman in the video? Yeah, that's her... dumbass.

Maybe with another feature the time would go by a bit quicker, but Chris was mostly funny during the links, although I suspect went a bit close to the edge with some phrases used - there's kids listening!

Overall: 7/10, room for improvement my man, but I'll be listening tomorrow on Listen Again.

Times tend to fluctuate on Radio 1 - they're not very "radio 4-esque" with their policy on timing. I've looked at the clock when shows have started and sometimes they're a couple of minutes before, sometimes they're a couple of minutes after....

No, they've just changed the start time. Chris said at the start of the show that it was part of R1's efforts to be the leading Breakfast show, don't know quite how much of a serious comment it was but sounds believable.

well there was a kinda crossover where nemone made a few comments, etc (like mark'n'lard did with coxy) but moyles didnt speak until after all his openers, etc were done

I thought a comment was made this morning why they were on 5 mins early and they seemed to not actaully officially start the show untill after the news, i thought it was just a bit of messing about chat to fill. I had just that min woke up though so i don't really know...

I think they are meant to start... remember RI:SE and programmes like that always started at 6:55. It's almost like he can do an introduction before the news... plus if he does a great opening link at 6.55 then it may convince people not to change over at 7. Aled?

Chris seems to be quite professional as far as timings is concerned... finishing the show at 10am on pips and everything.

on the listen again for the first day, the show lasted for 3 hours and 5 minutes. Yes, i downloaded Real One after i wasnt going to. Got sidetracked though and listened to the best bits of Ross and the Just A Minute I missed last night on Radio 4.

SHOW DEFINITELY STARTS AT 6.55 FROM NOW ON

it's stupid but the idea is to start earlier, meaning people don't tune over at 7 to the local tinpot. Most local breakfast shows start at 6 anyway so I don't see any point.

I set my tape for 6.55 this morning and just caught the start of the show by about 10 seconds. Then it was a 2 minute link and song into the news so I don't see why they should bother.

Did Chris/Dave etc actually chat to Nemone before this time?
