On the back of the BBC2 show on Saturday night. The options above were voted as the top 10 and will be profiled individually over the next 10 weeks on BBC2.

you can vote here for the winner..

For me it's got to be Fawlty Towers or Blackadder.

Lots of great ones there, except The Vicar of Dibley which I can't stand.

I'm going with Only Fools and Horses with Fawlty Towers a close second.

Only Fools, Fawlty Towers, Porridge, Open all hours, Dad's Army and One foot in grave all quality shows but I'll have to go with Fawlty Towers.

wow! i've seen most of those! vicar of dibley is not funny and i wonder why it was made at all. i used to love yes minister (and yes prime minister) though that shouldn't be much a suprise. i'm hooked on fools and horses now, i just need to see more episodes. i'm going to have to mull this one over.

if any of Blackadder, Porridge, Open all Hours or Dad's Army wins I'll be happy. Phoenix Nights and Partridge would already be in my top five now though.

I wouldn't say Phoenix Nights is a sitcome as such.

Similarly, I would like any of Blackadder, Fawlty Towers, Dads Army, or Fools and Horses. I like Dibley, but of those classics it's certainly not the top.

Not really a sitcom, but I watched Red Drawf for the first time in a while. Its the one where they go on a search for an curry and end up changing history.

JFK.

It's going to be either Blackadder, Fawlty Towers or Only Fools that wins it, but I hope that it's Blackadder.
If that wins it could conceivably get another series commissioned. It's doubtful Fawlty Towers would and we're likely to get Only Fools episodes every xmas until the end of time anyway (despite them saying every year that it's the last one).

I said Only Fools based on the earlier episodes (or all episodes up to when they got the money.)

Blackadder is a great comedy, but again I don't think I'd like to see another series really. I'm almost certain it wouldn't be anywhere near as good.

Again, yes it is.

You Americans probably don't get it. I like the Vicar of Dibley but must admit I was very surprised it was in the top 10.

they were all great, but the last episode of the 4th series was horrible, when they go over the top, its really horrible, it makes me sick watching it.

I doubt it as the 2000 special brought it up to the present day, so they would have to have it set between 2000 and 2004. It wouldn't happen.

Yeah it probably won't happen, particularly if the rumours are true that Rowan is going to be playing Voldemort in Harry Potter, he'd probably be a bit too busy.

They could do Blackadder set in the future.

So long as it turned out better than the future that they showed in the Christmas Carol episode.

apparantly rowan isnt playing voldemort and is currently suffering a nervous breakdown because jonny english didnt do as well as he had hoped.

red dwarf dvds are worth it for all the extras you get.

i think the reason why people think office and phoenix nights arent comedy is because they dont have the annoying canned laughter.

He might be, it's just not been confirmed yet.

It was one of Steve Wright's factoids on his show last week. Granted that doesn't mean it's set in stone or anything.

I had the misfortune of seeing that Jonny English thing a couple of months back. It was shocking. Only good thing about it was Natalie Imbruglia...

I've been watching it on BBC2 all over Christmas and I really do need to get a series on DVD. It's quality, although most people I know hate it. Number 18 on that rundown is quite respectable though...

No massive surprise about Only Fools being number 1, but I can't help thinking that if anyone had tried to phone Richard Curtis he would have been engaged all night.
