i got my wisdom teeth taken out wednesday. i was too doped up to really notice. yesterday i stayed home and played settlers of catan online all day. today i came to work. i'm still on vicodin for pain, but man i feel like i'm going to pass out. i'm too drugged to be here but also too drugged to walk home. i'm typing this pretty well considering.

I only have top wisdom teeth so far. How long does it take for the bottom ones to come through?

could take years. my top ones took 2 years to both come down. my bottom left one was almost all the way through and the bottom right was impacted.

dry socket- the bone is expose and an infection results. it hurts a bunch. i had a piece of tofu stuck in one of the holes for 4 hours. i need drugs.

luckily i have insurance now. i don't have to pay for anything. i think the vicodin was $5.50, and that was it. same thing with dental check ups. of course this is only because i'm still on my parents' insurance.

i had my teeth straightened. the only reason i did it was because my bite was really off. my bottom front teeth rubbed against my palate, which isn't very good. since i stopped wearing my retainers (and my wisdom teeth moved stuff around) my teeth are crooked, but my bite's okay. the only time you really need braces (as we say) is when it'll fix your bite. the rest is cosmetic.

oh, and by the way, i do have dry socket. the shoved this fowl smelling stuff in the hole. i have to go back tomorrow to get the dressing changed.

I have little sharp points where my bottom wisdom teeth should be, and no sign of any top ones yet. My friends little sister had hers when she was 10, and my boyfriend when he was 14
