yorkshire puddings are fab. we have them everytime my father makes a roast.

as for other british foods to try. i don't know. i've a can of heinz baked beans (with tomato sauce) somebody bought for me. i'm thinking beans on toast. i also was given a bottle of hp brown sauce (what the hell is dad's sauce?), but i've no idea what do with it.

any other suggestions for british cuisine?

According to BBCi:

Root vegetables traditionally form the staple of our winter crops. They feature in everything from the Sunday roast to soups and stews.

They are the hearty warming vegetables that we associate with evenings in, sitting by a warm fire, while the rain pours down outside. But root vegetables are also stuffed with vitamins and minerals and can help you to shake off those winter blues.

The swede is a comparative newcomer to our table. It was developed in Bohemia, possibly in the 17th century, though there are no written records of its development. Swedes can be purple, white or yellow in colour with white or yellow flesh. It is a common winter vegetable and is usually used in mash, or in stews and casseroles.
