What a neat piece of software, thankx :)

Just a little thing, most songs that i've tried come without a nice intro (ie. one that's long enough and doesn't have the artist singing on already). In that way, is there a way to combine the actual song and an instrumental version of it so they work together in the program?

Don't worry if there isn't, just trying to figure out how to use it :)

Henners.

Couldn't you just edit bits of the instrumental in with the song? Then just loop that bit using the loop machine.

Nice little program. I can make a seamless loop in cooledit, get the times from that but it seems to have a little jump before looping it. Might just be me? I've only tried it with one song (Are You Gonna Be My Girl ) but I'll have another go later see if i can do a seamless loop...

keane - somewhere only we know is also a good loop song - just loop the first 16 bars and it can go on for ever - my DJ software does it automatically which is good :D

I may look into this further for using on my internet radio show. Currently when I do this it requires listening very carefully to a looped track and then hitting play on the actual track at exactly the right place...

It's called Virtual DJ and is a pretty nifty piece of software. The latest version has cool tricks like voice cancelling on almost any mp3 and other cool stuff. The trouble is that it costs about £80 but after a gig or 2 it's easily paid for.

Hi, can anyone help me out? I've downloaded the Loop Machine, but when I try to run the sample files, i get the error message:

"Run-time error '-2147220970 (80040216)':

Automation Error"

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

The problem i had was that i was doing it on a network drive which wouldnt let me write. So check that the folder isn't read only.

I managed to get it working, just extracted it straight to my desktop, thanks for the help Ste.

I just tried the same track, seemed fine for me.

There is a very slight gap before the loop repeats due to the way the thing works, but it should be almost invisible (it's about 0.008 of a second).

Tried Keane which seemed to work well too.

The times given in cool edit aren't really reliable for me, I tweaked the times (handy having the 'New Loop' button) and managed to get it nearly seamless.

The more times it loops the more seamless loop it seems to become - this is probably just my hearing though, listening out for the loop to start with then losing track.

no, i noticed that too.

it's like the first time it runs the loop there's a slight gap where its processing it, then after a few times its cool

Trial and error is about the best approach. Out of curiosity, is the source code available? I wouldn't mind having a look how it works and tweaking around with the frontend.

Champagne Supernova is a good song to loop, from around 19.22s to 32.00s.
