They use Real media to SEND the audio from the user to the studio, so it's slightly better quality than using a 24kps shoutcast stream. As for music, its all streamed out from the users end.

As for the guy sounding terrible...
"This will be Alex Smith's 2nd show"

The whole idea is to give everyone a chance at a compeltely legal station. Afterall it's something to put on the CV which is what getting into radio is all about. There will obviously be bad presenters, and good ones. Hopefully the good ones may get recognised...

A lot of people do slate them for being rubish at times, however they do give people a chance that no one else seems to do.

But they seem to be becoming pretty successful. Been running for over a year now, and it is now paying its way.

Ooo, a professional voice over and all :D .

I find it ammusing how David has had a link to his show in his Signature for several years but almost no one has heard of the station he is on.

Will you be finishing 5 minutes early so you can hear the start of Moyles...?

That professional voice over is the same professional voice over you can hear on a lot of the XFM imaging...

No, I'll have to miss the first 5 mins and catch it later on listen again. Does anyone/ has anyone presented on CMP before? I have NO CLUE as to how to record the show without having to hold the ic to the speakers when playing music. HELP!!!!!!

You set your sound card settings to record all noise coming out of your speakers. There is a guide on the CMP homepage

Under the "present" section with the title "Sound Card configuration". Good luck on hosting your own radio show, if you cant even operate the CMP website properly

Should you not have thought about this before signing up and doing your show?!

No disrespect, but even ILRs that i've been involved with said they wouldn't bother considering anyone with CMP experience :P

I don't think we'll be seeing anyone from there on R1 in the near future ;)

you only have to listen to the gold people to realise that there is a good talent of DJs on there

But people with CMP experience have more expirence than those with no experience. Lets be honest, Hosptial Radio and RSL's will usually take folk with no expirence, so why shouldn't CMP? And surely if you get gold status on CMP, you are relatively good.

Plus doing something like CMP shows you are actually commited and prepared to spend your own time and money doing something... If an ILR was to totally disrespect and overlook this then what an unfair radio station they are...

I don't know much about it but CMP sounds like hospital radio for the lazy people who can't be arsed to go to a hospital!

any experience is good experience but there's nothing like getting something at a proper station to get a better idea of how the whole thing comes together

i'd love to work at a hospital radio station - i'd doubt that they'd take me on though, maybe if i record my CMP show's then make a good demo of them and send them off...

You have to remember for people like me, we dont have hospital radio... as our local hospital has like 10 patients in it at anyone time...

I do stuff for our local BBC station aswell, although its all news based so CMP gives me a good chance to do music shows etc. And as the internet and faster internet connections progress, things like internet radio will be more common, and CMP will already be one step ahead.
