I would like to say that, in no way am I belittling what Kelly Holmes did, far from it, I think we should all take lessons from every Olympic athlete, whatever country.
But the point I want to make is about the media...Now Kelly Holmes won 2 high-profile golds, and fair enough she should be respected for it(A lot of people over use the legend tag, but she is truely a legend now, dual gold-medal winner).
I know it's a late now, as the Olympics finished 1 and a half weeks ago, but...
Why don't the other medallists get the star treatment?
Now Ben Ainslie and Sarah Robertson both won their 2nd Gold medals in Athens. Matthew Pinsent won his 3rd.
But it seems we are forgetting about our other gold medal winners. Like Chris Hoy in the 4000m individual purauit, Bradley Wiggins the 1st British athlete to win three medals since Mary Rand in 1964.
Leslie Law in the Equestrian. Like I say, obviously I'm not having a pop at Kelly, it is a tremendous achievement, but let's not forget all our athletes who may not compete in 'sexy' sports.

I agree to a point, but Kelly Holmes was the first person to win both middle distance golds since 1920 - when a bloke won it - and she ran a faster 1500 than him.

Kelly Holmes had arguably the most successful Olympics out of all the Team GB competitors, coupled with the fact that most people have already heard of her. Therefore she is easy to single out for special treatment.
