Thats because you live in Scotland where the league is so poor its impossible to judge good or bad players. Its a shame hes off but after all thats gone on at goodison in the last year its merely a blip.

Hardly fits in Madrid's normal style of buying superstars

Kind of off topic but Dean Ashton will be a good buy :)

but you have to commend michael owen, he had the piss taken out of him for always being sub but now he gets matches, its the reason morientes left.
i didnt think gravesen was that good either but then again you could always buy robbie savage.

Thats because you people dont watch enough football, Gravesen has been one of the top midfielders in Europe so far this season and had a very good Euro 04 with Denmark (on a personal level anyway). Hes better than Beckham (admittedly many are) and I hope he is a success.

He better be! This is Ashtons chance to prove himself. Your only problem is if he scores goals and you still go down I doubt he will stay.

Gravesen is a fantastic buy for them (although i dont think he is the type of player they think he is), and owen has done really well for himself. I just got back from madrid this morning after going to the Copa del Ray 2nd leg at Estadio Santiago Bernabeau and Gravesen is already a crowd favourite, and more importantly he is a hit with the Ulras who basically run the club. Madrid should have signed Carsley instead of Gravesen though.

As for woodgate hes been unlucky and he probably wont play at all this season, but when he returns he will easily start at centre-back butim not sure who it will be alongside as i think Walter Samuel is going back to Italy in the summer. Maybe they will swoop for JT or solomon campellion?

Yes Pompey are crap so i spend most of my time watching third division spanish football to cheer myself up.

he was a crowd favourite at goodison to start with too. they will soon see how hit and miss he can be if he isnt played in the right position.

i have a feeling ashton will be good for norwich, if they were in division one. it kind of smells vaguely similar to spurs buying bobby zamora from brighton. admittedly spurs never kid the chance to prove himself.

routledge to spurs is a good buy if you can get him for reasonable.

get him for free at the end of the season.

ashton will be average, maybe score a couple of goals in the prem then when Norwich are relagated he will do well in the championship
