Yeah, easier said than done when audio editing programs, like cool edit, sound forge, etc, cos hundreds of pounds, LIKE I SAID ABOVE!

I use ACID. I downloaded the free trial and as if by magic the trial has never run out so it didnt cost a penny.

Here is the version of Cool Edit that I use, Cool Edit 96, it does exactly what it says on the tin (and is shareware so it neednt cost you a penny!)

come on, if you're gonna get cool edit, you might as well get a decent version. 96 can't even deal with MP3s. 2000 does and it's also useful to have the studio plug-in so you can multi-track your work. Cool Edit Pro 1.2a is good, but you need the MP3 plug-in, but the latest one (and by far the best), and the one I use - Cool Edit Pro 2. fantastic.

Yup, but if you just need a program to cut up WAVS nice and easily, Cool Edit 96 does the job, does it well and doesn't cost a bean!

Where can you get backing tracks and vocals without backing tracks from?
I had an idea to bootleg Eminem's Without me with the backing from the early 90's classic Scatman (© 2002 Sidla Prductions Ltd.), but need to get Scatman backing track and Eminem vocals.

i have cool edit 1.2, it does the job, didnt cost me a penny, and isnt shareware. shhh, dont ask. yes the server on bs is down. the doc is trying to sorté it.

i dl a program called wavelab from kazaa which is really good. i used it to mix one which got played so it does the job.
