so am I, it's actually difficult doing nothing. You'd kill to leave work, I'd kill to go back. Worse thing is, even if I was better, It's half term anyway and I'd be off work - at least I could go somewhere, this no sitting lark means no driving which means basically staying put.

if you get to choose then always go for the earliest time.........isn't that obvious? Unless of course that affects when you have to work til tomorrow.

Get another job then. The one you have obviously has nothing to do with a degree and doesnt require your qualifications and will probably not be a career. There are thousands of jobs like that around and lots of them wont require you to work at the weekend.

That requires effort.

and is never as easy as people make it sound, people around me were nagging me all the time I was jobseeking to get a job, even though two of them had been gifted work by 'daddy who owns a factory' (f***ing hate nepotism) and have never had to work for anything in their lives. Some people just don't get it, hell I know people who've passed Uni courses with top marks and STILL had trouble getting work in the field theyre more than amply qualified in....

then theres the whole finding time to jobsearch if you're working a full week as it is....

Frank Skinner's autobiography is the best book you've ever read?

Mine is between the novel version of Sum Of All Fears by Tom Clancy (which I'm in the middle of reading, and NOT to be confused with that film which seems very loosely based on it, more loosely with every page), and Mick Foley's autobiography "Mankind Have a Nice Day: A tale of blood and sweatsocks"

I'm reading Tom Brown's Schooldays and im struggling... John Simpson's books are ok (he has done a couple more stories from his career than an autobiography) but hes a bit of a prat.

um, Frank SKinner's autobirography..........sorry, that was just too obvious. And, for the record Lucie, it wasn't me who said it was the best book I've read, it was someone else in teh first page of this thread that I was quoting - can't remember who though.

Same here. I read the words but start thinking of something else and my concentration wanders and I end up having to read each page at least twice before I can take it in. The book really has to capture my imagination for me to enjoy it. That's why I can only read Harry Potter at the moment.

Harry potter.......urghhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I tried, I really did, but anything that involves wizzards and witches or goblins etc etc etc I just can't handle.

ha ha. At least you can laugh at yourself Gaspode. On a completly different subject, I noticed today that in my physio's room at the hospital there is an eye chart (Why I don't know) and something just jumped out of it at me today. If you take the first and biggest letter, N, and then follow it down the right hand side it spells out N Halton - weird eh Gaspode - you're stalking me!
