I read the story on the front page, and although Im not fully aware of the station in question, it looks like a bit of a joke. I hope Moyles slates them some more. :) We never get this in the States between stations- British radio is very entertaining!

I like it how the programme director says...

Pulse wrote:he branded The Pulse a 'tin-pot local station' (where incidentally he used to work, until he was fired!)

Well look at him now, host of one of the most coverted radio shows in the world, I don't really think Moyles geting fired at your station means alot to him now.

It's my local one, and believe me it's the tinpot to end all tinpots.

Moyles calls all local radio stations 'tin pot stations' anyway so taht argument falls down.

No yours can't be. Mine is the number 1 tinpot station, it has the world's corniest DJ and the rest are the travel presenters. Not that I listen to it any more.

Hmm just like Trent FM too then, and probably Ram FM seeing as they apparently are the SAME F*CKING STATION with 5 minute delay between....

This is ridiculous, everyone can come on and say that their local radio station is the worst around, when most of them have probably barely listened to four others before.

I can proove ours is the worst...

The station is designed to be music 24/7, which is fair I suppose as they cant really afford people to present shows (although I'd do one for free, 'expirence' and all dat),

yet the news in the morning is hilarious. 13 minutes on the hour and half hour between 6 and 9. Same every time, i.e. 6 times in the space of 3 hours.

13 minutes featuring local crap news no one cares about, weather that isnt correct, loads of really crappy in house produced adverts, and nordic news, a feature that lasts about 3 minutes featuring news from Norway, Denmark, Iceland and the Faroe Islands (otherwise known as "news no one cares about"). Also read direct from the press release, no editing what so ever.

Then back to 17 minutes of the best musical mix ever.

Highlights include the pronouncing of the name "Kasabian", and the "Lavigne" as in "Avril Lavigne".

Oh, and, its the same guy (station owner) every day of the flipping year. Never takes a holiday. And hes rubbish and hasnt a clue what hes speaking about.

God bless the station I wont name for legal reasons.

Hmmm coming back from London yesterday afternoon, I couldn't seem to get a good signal for radio 1 (not such a bad thing really, it was Sara Cox followed by Scott Mills, so all I missed was Nemone really) so I listened to a station that had the 'official uk (s)hit 40' (think it had Katy Hill on it, but it was so bad I can't remember much) and they had the chart on what muxt have been a 5 minute delay from when Radio 1 had it... hmmm.

my car radio automatically adjusts to keep the best reception and it isn't that posh so others must do it...

thats really the greatest feature of RDS, it can keep it "locked" to the station your own through out the country if your driving. The station name on your screen is really just a bonus.

However in Shetland Radio 1 is just 97.9 where ever I am...

Most of the East Midlands is 97.9. It always used to annoy me when I was on the train to or from Sheffield. Sheffield is 99.5, but there was always a hole between Sheffield and Derby where you can't get proper reception. I think 98.6 was about the best one, but the reception was poor.
