Can I just thank David Moyes the Everton manager for signing the Nigerian defender/midfielder which allows thousands (well maybe tens) of scousers to go round with "Yobo" on their shirts.

Mind you, Everton have got a real bargain there. One of the defenders of the World Cup really. I'm not dissing Rio, but if someone is prepared to pay £35m for a world class defender, and Everton snap up another world class defender for £4m, than the footballing world really has gone mad.

note everton signed yobo for 1 year with an option of four more. i am prepared to bet large sums of money (up to 20p) that he wont be here in a years time.

Ulises de la Cruz from Hibernian and DaMarcus Beasley from the MLS are both cheap buys who would be good buys for any teams. Why waste £10m on El Hajji Diouf when he isn't even that good? He's ball greedy, He appears to have only 1 or 2 tricks up his sleeve, He whinges at every decision that goes against him, and his goals per game ratio is rubbish. I wonder how many times during the season my last statement will be mockingly quoted by irate scousers?...
