watched a few things tonight on the telly.
8 out of 10 cats - sponsored by nintendo ds. that was the funniest thing about it - the tagline had the words "promoting ORIGINAL comedy" or words to that effect. its just the final round of have i got news for you mixed with family fortunes
switched over to see lesley the slapper voted out, i know its easy to say that shes a chav or vicky pollard but i thought she resembles the caroline aherne character in the fast show who was a teenage tearaway.
talking of good sketch shows, heres one thats not, monkey something or other, cant remember the name of it, thats how crap it was. bob mortimer and vic reeves wrote it, star in it and have the cream of comedy... and alistair mcgowan and ronni ancona (who actually finds them funny, millions of viewers on bbc1, i dont get it) and they manage to frig it up. griff rhys jones, john thomson, tim healy wasted. the sketch in the radio sound booth wasnt funny to begin with, but they dragged out more scenes on it. comedy with no punchlines - its supposed to be quickfire gags, i saw none, i didnt laugh once. usually when people say this, they exaggerate, they probably did. i, however, am telling the truth. a skit with vic reeves as a preacher who scratches his arse - not funny. jonny hoare could write better material.
