I'd have to take a US law degree, pay about $50,000 a yr for the prilivage and leave my boyfriend who I would miss loads and loads.... but yes I guess I couldn I would be miserable though with only vast amounts of money for compensation.

You forget that not only do you have to pass the law degree but then be good enough to build up a reputation that people will pay the big bucks for...

I know a lawyer who got married to a pilot - the pilot got a job and was waiting to find out where he was going to be based but apparently it would have really messed her up even if he went to Scotland cos her law degree would have been worthless. Or it could have been Ireland, but I thought Scotland.

Could have been either. Both have their seperate legal systems. A law degree isn't terribly transferable.

If Reese Witherspoon and Allie McBeal can be great lawyers in America I'm sure I'll be fine :)
