i remember going to see donnie darko in the cinema with my sister and her fella. he was pissed off cos i got to pick and he wanted to see star wars. he came out and said it was the most pretentious crappy twaddle hes had the misfortune of watching.

donnie darko in my opinion is a decent film but there are parts where you think "a level coursework film by a nerd" territory

I've got the directors cut on DVD, damn good film. Have any of you read the book that comes with it 'The philosophy of Time Travel' by 'Roberta Sparrow' (Its the one Donnie reads throughout the film)?
