Kazaa is also not shareware, its adware. However if we're talking about the best P2P app, its got to be giFT.

I still wouldnt trust it.
Even if you remove all the adware it brings, it then wont start because you cleaned your system of all the junk, stupid... cant see why its so popular

It isn't made by Kazaa though, so it works pretty well. It's not as if the adware is removed by yourself. I've started using limewire though, which is miles better than Kazaa, like or otherwise

giFT allows you to connect to several networks simultaneously, like FastTrack (Kazaa), OpenFT, Gnutella and the Ares network. Its really good, you should take a look if your worried about adware and spyware.

Kazaa Lite never had any adaware/spyware installed with it. I used to use it but i find Limewire good as you can have multiple search tabs open which speeds things up when you've got a few songs in mind you need

I've never actually used LimeWire before, but I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark and say its a windoze only program, yes?

Not bad, not that I can use it, but not bad. It's way too rare that a program is made for more than just windoze.

Not that you condone illegal music downloads or anything! Unless of course you mean all of those wonderful free to download songs that are on P2P networks.

You could use it on linux using wine, (i think)
And yeah i never tried kazaa lite, but limewire usualy gets me really good download speeds

No need, I've just looked and found that LimeWire is a client for the gnutella network, which I can already access through giFT.
