I'm thinking about finally buying an mp3 player, but dont know which one to get. So far I'm thinking about this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000A42UHW/202-1999928-4085448 along with these headphones: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000684HRI/qid=1122562149/sr=2-2/ref=sr_2_3_2/202-1999928-4085448. Any opinions would be much appreciated. Oh, and no recommendations for ipods please, they are overrated and just a fashion accessory.

Zen Micros are supposed to be good. I got a cheap £30 one from Dabs. It only holds 256MB, but that's an hours worth of music and it recieves FM too, so it suits my needs perfectly.

Just in case anyone is considering buying a cheap Mp3 player, (i.e; from Ebay) then read on....

Mrs Oldgit bought a new o2 mobile phone, came with free Mp3 player, but the software doesn't work, and I cant find alternative software anywhere.
No Media player or Jukebox recognises it neither.

Seen a couple for sale on Ebay, so I guess theyve got fed up with it too.

Its an AccFast Digital Mp3/Wma player with voice recorder (128mb),

I forgot to say my mums got those headphones too and they are f*cking amazing. They go inside you're ear and mould to the shape of it, the sound quality is fantastic, well worth the cash.

I have an I Audio M3. Plays WMA/MP3/OGG/FLAC. Just appears as an external hard drive, so you can easily add files, and data files at that, without having to mess around with drivers or extra software.

Has the radio on it, and you can also record the radio. Then when you plug it back into your computer the radio recording is there as an mp3 file to do with what you like. Can also record from line in sources as well, and automatically appear as mp3 files on your computer when you plug it in.

Also looks nicer than an IPOD, And slightly cheaper to...

Does that mean that you can pretty much record from any source such as a Hi-Fi or personal CD player, or am I just talking pish?

yep. if it has an output (even a headphone socket) then it can record from it with the proper lead.
