Console wrote:I've got nothing against eDonkey personally, as I've never actually used it myself, but reports from friends seem to suggest that its not that good. Isn't it adware?

It has ads embedded in it, but I don't think it has any sort of spyware.

Thats what I meant, I was using the original definition of adware (Advertisement supported software), as opposed to the newer (slighly unclear) definition that people use it for.

But by that definition, virtually all websites are adware.

IIRC, I don't think webpages (and images) are classed as software, they fall into the data category meaning they're not adware.

After installing SP2 and running KCeasy for the first time you will be notified that "giFT Loader for KCeasy" has been blocked by Windows. You have to unblock it.

help me out here someone. how do i unblock it?

Make sure you don't have a firewall that's blocking outgoing connections. If a dialogue box pops up asking you to allow KCeasy access to the internet after you install it, make sure you choose "yes" or "unblock" or whatever is appropriate option.

the only dialogue box that pops up is when i installed it. it just said that the service pack was detected it didnt give any options to allow access.

At the risk of starting a big pointless argument, I would class web pages as software (well the ones where such as this here message board that the server processes and decides what to ouput certainly.)

Google is certainly software.

The backend, this program that does all of the processing, doesn't have ads in (at least it probably doesn't and if it did that would be adware), its the front end that has ads in. The backend is the software and the frontend is the data, with the ads. Data is not software and therefore cannot be adware.

websites could be classed as programming as the ones that give custom output get that output FROM other software usually... other software on the hosting server.

Websites are just alot of code.

HTML and XML are not programming languages, they are Markup languages (Hypertext Markup Language and eXtensible Markup Language), and PHP is a scripting language (although it could be considered a programming language), but it is on the backend anyway.

Programming languages would be VB, C++ , perl etc... whereas web programming would be like html, php like previously stated.

Perl is a scripting language too. A programming language is something that needs to be compiled before it's used.

Not true... Perl is a programming language even though it is interpreted not compiled. Hmm, I'm staying out of this now.
