Indeed the world has changed, but then people's beliefs have changed too. How many Christians still believe the world was created in 7 days?

Normally, I'd say most actual Christans do but I am bound to be 'prooved wrong' and don't want an argument at the current time so I'll actually say "I don't know" just for fun.

How can religious beliefs change if they're based on the Bible? Has God sent some new messages saying "Ahh well the worlds change you better do this instead now, my old messages sound a bit silly now, sorry folks". No, thought not.

If beliefs are constantly been changed whatever you believe in now can easily change in the future.

Mcqueen wrote:I agree that religion has a played a huge part in creating society years back. Therefore it would be stupid to argue that it should never have been invented. It served it's purpose as providing a reason for existance before we were technologically advanced enough to deduce other theories of our existance.

Banning it is also unrealistic when so many people feel so strongly about it. An ideal, and also unrealistic scenario for the forseeable future, would be that religious feelings fade away of their own accord.

In my opinion it is absurd to follow a way of life that was created so long ago. The world has changed, society has advanced beyond religion.

I can't fault anything you have said there. Although in this country many Christian views (i can't really speak for other faiths) seem to be fading, especially compared to say 100 years ago and although it's still a strong presence, it's not as stong as it once was.

People's beliefs are based on holy texts, but they adapt these beliefs depending on the climate they live in. Plus most holy texts can be minipulated to what read ever you want to believe (within reason) which is why views can differ so much within one religion - such as in Islam

Ok. Like I said. Im not gonna argue. I can't be bothered and I know for a fact that there is another, very long thread in which all my religious views are explained anyway so I'l go by what I said there.

it'll be a great day when Sidla realises he's wrong at times, however much he denies it.
