The game lasts 30 second yet they have a minute clock

The last 30 seconds of the minute- never used and therefore depressed......

they should reverse the clock (60-30) sometimes, that way numbers like 45 and 38 wouldnt feel inadequate

Sad that I know this and I can't remember where I read/saw it but:

When the series was first created they were originally going to have 60seconds but at the very late stages of production it was decided that 30 seconds would be better. By this time all the set had been made including the 60second clock and at the time they didnt scrap it for a 30 second clock for financial reasons (C4 weren't rich). And as it got bigger and bigger they couldnt really one day change the clock back to a 30second one.

Great fun guessing where... if you are bored out of your brains or have the mental age of a two year old!

I have solved the mystery of the Countdown clock. When the time is up the clock rotates 180 degrees so it the hand is back at the top! Then when the next countdown is needed the other half of the clock gets used!

can i also just say that the phrase is a blatent rip off of the (much better) Playdays one:

bob the builder confuses me. the other day he was building a shed using pink cement for its foundations to help him he had a cat a scarecrow and some rats. it was just poor use of resources really then when he put it up it was in the middle of nowhere and of no possible use as a shed whatsoever......
