I'm sure you'll be a good driver Ickle when you pass your test. I don't think you really start learning to drive until after your test and you drive on your own for a while.

Agreed - no one is a good driver until at least a year or so after they've passed their test - you don't get taught to drive, you get taught the pass your test.

Ha, what a load of bilge. I bet at least half of people who've been driving a year would fail if they took the test again.

I'd prob fail if I took my test again and I passed with 3 minor faults the 1st time although I wouldn't say that I'm a bad driver. I think that the driving test is totally different to real life driving. Only rd experience has prepared me for that.

If everyone drove like they should on a driving test, the world would be a very safe place. Very dull though.

Noone would overtake and everyone would drive very very slowly with nervous looks on their faces.

I don't doubt it, but everyone knows new drivers are the biggest risk, that's why they pay the most on insurance and mainly why I've had a car sitting on my driveway not moving anywhere for nearly a year.

I failed my test today.

Probably won't have the money to re take it for a long time either. Two major faults - both to do with awareness..

You should beg borrow or steal the money and just get it over with. After I failed my test I left it for a while and didn't take any lessons and I ended up paying more as I'd forgotten what I'd learned in the 1st place.

I'm moving away to uni on Sunday though so the earliest time I could re take it with my current instructor (who gives me discount) would be Christmas..

Thats rotten. Could you not just come back for the weekend. It'll save you loads of money honestly cause by the time you come back at Xmas you'll have forgotten most of the stuff you've learned.

Or just take time-out from uni to take it. You won't miss much if it's only your first year.

My mate failed his test way back in December and hasn't bothered taking it again. He failed when he was distracted by a "hot girl" and completely mounted the curb.

Shagging the curb is not good.
