Aled, are we allowed to have a 'Best of Moyles podcast archive? I've emailed the trial people, but have had no reply as of yet, so I was wondering if you knew of any legal issues.

Keep up the good work, the show's great at the mo.

No unfortunately not yet - as this is a trial, the take up of the podcasts will determine how we go from here. Personally speaking I can't see us not doing a podcast now, it's more to do with music rights, amount of work it takes to make, the time it takes and working out the best way of doing them.

It takes 2 people a whole day to make one of these, so it's a big undertaking. I have a feeling this website will be making next week's highlights!

And there aren't legal issues with the clips / shows that this website has now? :) why don't you store them as you see fit and maybe Chris (Harris) and us can discuss any legal issues and make sure it's all okay.

Bleedin newbies...

Whats it like working on the radio, do you getr a sort of 'buzz' when the show starts and is there a good atmosphere while the show is on air?

Also - What do you and the team do while the records are playing, i imagine it can get boring sometimes?

does the music always have to be on loud in the studio cos if i had to play a song i hated i would turn it down low.

It looks really nice. the studios we were in is part of the old building. Radio 2's moving back to Western House soon once they finish renevating it.

Re. Monday's show, did all of the stuff come off from CDs and Minidiscs? Or did they use the playout system?

CDs and MiniDiscs

Ah, so Radio 2 haven't discovered VCS I take it?

Re. the questions about what people do in the studio whilst records are on - normally say things that couldn't be said on air, chat, browse the internet and (if you see the webcam) sometimes nip off for a piss/fag/coffee/water/sandwich/coco-pops*

To transfer whole show files on such short notice to VCS Dira isn't easy it's a pain to set up as it is and isn't always to reliable.

Hi Aled.

First, your alot more attractive than i thought you'd be... lol (no, i'm not like that 8) )

Anyway, i don't know whether this is a stupid question or not, but how much of the 'unprofessionalism' on the show is actually intentional (i mean like 'playing every last second' of a track etc.), or is it all just as chaotic as it sounds to the listeners? :D

.

So Sorry Chris for being a Pain!
I'll do better to be a little bit more pleasent!

Ok then I'll be more serious then!

Aled I have just recently became a DJ in my City's Hospital.

What I do is:
* Deal With Requests off of Pacients.
* Go Around the Hospital Wards to make sure the pacients have
earphones that work correctly.
* Make doubley sure all of the Audio (I.E. Music, Interview Clips
Etc.) has absolutly no swering or anything like that in it.
* Edit the Swering bits out, if its somebody talking then I would cut the
bad bits out to make it a little more P.C. If it's the CD with the swears
in it I would then Re-Record the Music on a seprerate Disk (for our sole
use only) and put censor bleeps over the bits that could caus offence!
* Talk On a Mic.
* Play Music.
* Wright The Tracks I had played on a Listings Sheet.
* Read the News and Sport, (Sometimes)
* Try and make the show I am doing as Interesting as possible so
no-body will be too bord and turn-off to go to sleep.

What Advice do you have for somebody who is doing all of those duties and who has just gotten into the Radio Industry?

Hi FunnyDave

To be honest the advice Rachel sent you is the best advice I could give. You're on the best route to getting good experience and as she said it may do you some good to look at the OneLife pages http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/onemusic/workr1/ some of colleagues have written advice there.
