If you watch national television (regardless of maybe living in a predominately Caucasian area). How are you expected to learn about other cultures if the likes of the BBC, Granada, Border television etc, etc, don’t air ethnic programs?

Yeah the BBC have Asian entertainment channels... and really I guess that's my point. It's merely a token gesture. It's still segregation.

If its a multicultural society that we are all supposed to be living in. Then where are our multicutural TV programmes / TV stations?

If it's good TV then surely we will all watch it without prejudice.

So, if people want change and education then the first step is to mix TV up. Airing the Kumars or showing EAST is EAST just wont do.

If anyones to blame then its the people who run television & radio stations.

Imagine if they done an award ceremony for "white music". Or if Radio 1 had a new sister station for "white music". They would go mad! Racist this racist that, what about 1-Xtra then? Isn't that classed as racist as well?
Then Kerrang in Birmingham could be that. Yet even they cant escape the odd 50 Cent track... Nightmare.

I'm sure it has Gaspode but it does no harm to revisit such blatant prejudice.

It's not just TV. Radio is just as bad. Where is the multicultural broadcasts on a "continual" national level?

There isn't one and there never will be. So the situation will always (sadly) exist.

Then again there was a band called Monsson who had a hit with "Ever So Lonely" followed by Punjabi MC some 10 - 15 years later!

How's that for educating the masses! Well done the BBC/Radio

There's no such thing as 'white music' though, unless you're talking about classical. Most popular music today has evolved from the music that black people created.

There is no such thing as it becuase they couldn't name anything under it. There would be protests n all as you could imagine. Rock could be one, even though some black people follow it. And some white people follow hip-hop, so the mobo's dosen't segregate anyone i guess.

I don't see why people think the MOBOs are racist. They are for music of black origin, not specifically for black artists.

because the whole concept of black origin is bullsh*t.

how can anyone decide how a type of music really evolved? what was the first piece of music? Was it neanderthal man liking the sound of two rocks tapping together?

Has a white person won a MOBO then?

That sounds a bit naive of me, but I am interested.
