Hardly shocking. But his last public words were more or less "dont drink".

RIP

I've put my views in the other thread in polls... What's the point in starting another one?

Darn it. Everyone makes mistakes. It would probably be moved here anyway. They could be joined...

Then again - we could just close this thread ?

Darn.

And re-open it for when the thread in the other location gets suitable for this place. The Robin Cook one was here, death is a death no matter who it is.

At least a minutes silence. 24 hour drinking will work for the police, but healthwise...

Again I say this is not something he had no control over. Wake up.

West Ham fans wont observe the silence for all the money in the world.

It was his own fault i agree. But he has partly made up for it into shocking everyone with that picture in the paper n all. Weather it work or not is up to the rest of the alchoholics in the country but they have seen what it can do 1st hand even to an athlete.

This may shock you but I agree with you - the one redeeming thing he did was get the press photographer to photograph him to warn people against the dangers of alcoholism.

I find it sad when your own 87 year old father is at your death bed.

Like Elvis' dad. He saw the rise and fall of his own son. It must hurt to outlive your children.

they sold them to the News of the World. a cynical person might say it would have been better to release them to all... but then they wouldn't have got the money.

It was reported that the hospital were he was being treated was/is going to waver his medical bills.

Either way, it was sad for football 20 or so years ago when he retired, certainly not now!

The guy was a total pisssss head who drunk and drove on many occasions.... If he had killed someone then everyone would be slagging him off...
