FLAME wrote: If he had killed someone then everyone would be slagging him off...

By taking a new liver stating 'I'm never going to touch another drop' and then drinking himself to death he has directly denied another liver patient the chance of a life. To me thats why he was a useless loser.

As for jokes....they're bloody quick these days, I went past the butchers yesterday and there was a sign in the window best liver £3 kilo.

A footballer who was described by Pele as 'The Best I've Seen' and He was Maradona's inspiration but yet people can't see past the later years of his life.

All football fans will remember him for the right reasons.

Imagine Rooney or Ronaldinho playing on top of their game for 10 years at a club and then not playing again. I think we'd remember them for all their talent and not for the reason that made them leave the game.

That's a sweeping statement, it depends very much on the reason itself.

Yeah he was a great footballer, blah blah but I still fail to see why he got the sympathy he did.

No ones excusing him for drinking as much as he did, people are just choosing to commemorate his playing time rather than focusing on his drink problems.

I suppose its understandable for people to remember recent events, but he did have an illness, and he was a great footballer.

I also think that, as an alcoholic, he shouldn't have been given the liver in the first place, but that was down to the doctors, and they probably did go through the correct protocols for him to have it.

My girlfriends dad is on the waiting list for a liver, and it's not just a case of we've got a liver, lets give it to the top name on the list, theres a multitude of procedure, for instance, you have to have the exact right match, which is why everyone should be an organ donor.
